Re: It's been a while...

Oh wow, I first saw this topic and didn't even make the connection to the former admin Thea. :O (Not that I really knew her much back then beyond "she exists" either, I first came to the site during the time she still sorta was around but not very active.) Always cool to see members from so far back...

Re: The Sunnylands (K4 levelpack)

The only thing I'd point out is that in Dumb Lake, the vertical scrolling is awful. There's a patch out there - I saw it in "Keen 4 Ultimate Edition" - which gets proper underwater scrolling for two levels, at the cost of having awkward scrolling on the world map - I think this is preferable, as th...

Re: The Sunnylands (K4 levelpack)

I gave this a play the other day. For the record, it's the first time I've actually played anything Keen-related in probably 4 or 5 years now. I'm very impressed overall! The only thing I'd point out is that in Dumb Lake, the vertical scrolling is awful. There's a patch out there - I saw it in "Keen...

I was gonna say "wouldn't the original one be the ezBoard one", but I vaguely recall there was something even before that?

Re: Keen 2000 and Keen4ever

I'd really like to play the later games by therealdopefish, the Real Keen Player series, which were developed for DOS and not made with Clickteam software. Real Keen Player... now there's a blast from the past. I remember getting RKP2 onto the PC at school, and making a bunch of co-op levels (usual...

Re: Plot of Shadowlands episodes 4-9 revealed!

I put Eps. 4 and 5 in the wrong order. My mistake. Also, hi! Hi! I watched the 1st episode again and I must say that it's still got it, after all these years. The key to its success is a good story arc structure and a good sense of timing for individual scenes. From the quoted synopses, it certainl...

Re: OFF TOPIC THREAD: Where derailing the thread is impossible!

Here's my current D-Fend Reloaded dos games collection: (images redacted from quote) These are the most, but not all of my DOS games and mods. I'm not the biggest L2 fan so maybe that's why, but I've never heard of a mod "Oh Yes! More Lemmings!". I think Lemmings Forums would be quite interested to...

Re: Keen 2000 and Keen4ever

(In case you're wondering, I found the sound test by opening the game with The Games Factory, which is possible since the game was left unprotected.) If I'm not mistaken, all Klik n Play games are unprotected; it wasn't until The Games Factory that protection became possible (or may have even been ...

Re: Commander Keen Mobile Reboot

The graphic style is fine IMO. The gameplay and overall direction is what I'm concerned about. Simple fact is - unless they actually outright go with retro-style low resolution graphics, no matter what they do it won't look completely like the original, just due to how much time has passed and how m...

Re: OFF TOPIC THREAD: Where derailing the thread is impossible!

Ah wow, this guy reminds me of how I was way back when I first signed up in the ezBoard days (at, and I quote, "nine and a half years old"). OK if i am that young (which i'm not) then you must still be 9/12 years old yourself! ... So if I was 9 1/2 (or 9/12, I guess?) back in the ezBoard days, that...

Re: Commander Keen Petition

About the potential of an "actual game", well, honestly, after this can we really trust Bethesda to do a good job? I haven't seen anything to indicate they care about Keen any more than just a "quick cash grab", and if they don't care, anything they do is going to be mediocre at best. Maybe if we'r...

Re: Lemmings 3D is now editable

Apparently, LGL2 is the best Lemmings 2 editor: Info here: https://www.lemmingsforums.net/index.php?topic=1089.msg31839#msg31839 (I suggest also reading through the rest of the topic after that post, too) Download in this topic: https://www.lemmingsforums.net/index.php?topic=2560.msg56433#msg56433 T...

Re: Lemmings 3D is now editable

I'm not familiar with L2 (or L3, for that matter) editing myself, but I'm sure someone else will be able to help you if you ask. I'll ask around and see if anyone knows of a better topic to point you towards, for starters.

Unless the forum software already supports such a feature and they simply haven't enabled it, this would not be a trivial task. But you can always ignore them the old-fashioned way. ;)
