Re:

Eh, they're OK (as far as mainstream rock bands go anyway). Can't say I'm getting really excited about this though. I might give it a spin or two eventually.

Nukem or Nukum. Really, what does it matter?

Yes it will, just as soon as all of us who still play Keen are dead.

Hall's with Romero's company these days, right? What are they up to anyway, still working on that MMO?

Re:

I actually still own my original Keening computer (a 486/33 with DOS 6.22/Windows 95) but it just sits in my closet collecting dust these days. I also have a Pentium 90, which is a laptop, that I occasionally use to play DOS games such as Keen.

Doesn't Tom Hall run that site himself?

Disagree. I thought it was a fun little puzzle game back in the day. I still own the original registered version floppy I ordered from Apogee years ago.

Keen 2000 sucked. It's an extremely buggy Klik & Play "game". It probably doesn't even work on Windows Vista/7.

The screenshots BrainRain posted are from the old WinZIP SFX files, the new ones use Inno Setup (IIRC) and bypass the original DOS installers.

I bought ROTT from there last year after the store was updated and I can confirm this. It's the original game with a preconfigured copy of DOSBox included. No DRM.

What about Windows 3.2?

Keen 6 was originally intended to be an episode of Goodbye Galaxy, making it a trilogy like Vorticons, but then Formgen offered id a deal they couldn't pass up so Galaxy was reduced to only 2 parts (which probably hurt sales).

People who buy old boxed games like this one usually do it for the collectible value. Not just to get the game itself.
