Re: Operation Station Infiltration

Robo Gang https://i.ibb.co/Pw3Ny30/Robo-Rangers.png Thoughts? Yellow or Teal? Any ideas for how yellow/teal attacks? I would like an Omegamatic that is more different in design, like the one from Mink's Puzzle Pack The world map is already done...and it's on the simple side like the Omegamatic, whic...

Re: Recreated Keen 4-6 Source Code

Fantastic! You know I"ll be using these, and Nisaba and I are currently developing a source modding tutorial and I think this would make the perfect base to teach others with. I think you're work here is going to be the foundation of whatever mods we see in the future. Looking forward to workin...

Re: Return to the Shadowlands

I'm just gonna say, if you're planning for your first level to be a certain "Blooglet Lake" I'm going to have to be very annoyed *Quietly crosses this off my level list* we just need a map editor that allows the user to select from a rearranged "palette" of tiles instead of (or ...

Re: Operation Station Infiltration

Right now there isn't really much to show other than enemy designs, which I'm torn between spoiling or not. Re Robo Green, mine will share the name of these others but will use an original design based on a modified robo red (similar to robo blue's difference to robo red). I think I shared the desig...

Re: Return to the Shadowlands

Was the initial plan to cover most of the extended world map in mountains, or there would be a path to different areas (assuming the topic was considered)?
If I understand the question correctly, yes the extra area above the original world map would have been all mountains.

Operation Station Infiltration

https://i.ibb.co/74VjSt6/Operation-Station-Infiltration.png This will be a source mod in the style of a levelpack for Keen 5 and will be the sequel to Return to the Shadowlands. Featuring: A continuation of the story: Keen must infiltrate and disable the Shikadi's defensive station, the Omegamatrix...

Re: Return to the Shadowlands

Regarding the world map, it almost took place above and beyond Crystalus; a modified Crystalus would have been level 1 and would function as a gateway to an entirely new world map from the old one. Ultimately I didn't go with that idea, but that's the reason why that area is modified on the big worl...

Re: Return to the Shadowlands

Also something else I had planned to make (and partly why I thought about doing the tileset organizing) was a levelpack for Keen 6 where Keen has to rescue Spot because the Bloogs kidnapped him for revenge. :O I've already begun my tileset for this episode and while it's a bit messy because of addi...

Re: Return to the Shadowlands

Thank you for the full review, Soul Monster! I'm actually surprised Whispering Woods has been a popular level; it underwent several revisions and in the end I still felt the design would be boring. I'm glad I was wrong about it! I must have been really lucky when I tested the Bounder, I didn't seem ...

Re: The Alphamatic (Version 2 + Marooned Over Mars Expansion)

This is the next mod I've been catching up on and I just made it past the first elevator. To my understanding this mod is pretty big so I thought I'd give commentary incrementally. Also I'm playing on easy because I'm a mental wimp :mortlol I like the concept of the Alphamatic, both as a mod and the...

Re: Return to the Shadowlands

And it wasn't ludicrously, unfairly more difficult than the rest of the game, which secret levels sometimes can be. I'm glad to hear this since, in general and despite the larger levels, one of my goals was to keep the difficulty level true to the original games (with maybe the exception being gett...

Re: Return to the Shadowlands

I found it. I really liked what you did in order to reach the path to the inchworms. It is was rather clever, challenging and tricky. It took me awhile to figure it out. Even when you know what to do it is still not too easy to execute. Sweet, hopefully the effort was worth it! Version 1.04 is up, ...

Re: Return to the Shadowlands

I actually assumed players would enjoy herding all of them wherever without getting any stuck somewhere, but if corralling them all in a pit is more fun I'll change it back.

Re: Return to the Shadowlands

Minor quibbles: a couple of the larger levels were particularly easy to get lost in, and when I did finish them, I sometimes didn't feel like I knew how I'd done it. The "optional area hand signs" helped a lot, though. That's a great way to describe the feeling of wandering big levels, no...

Re: Return to the Shadowlands

Version 1.03 is up now with fixes thanks to Szemi. Some misplaced tiles but nothing game breaking.

This is what happens when I add things after testing has been done :o
