Out of curiosity, are you thinking of something that plays like a standard FPS, or working with the engine to make something more like this?

Not necessarily... HQ2x, for example, is a smoothing filter that does have specific rules to blend these patterns. HQ2x and its ilk sort of do it, but not especially well. You get a kind of fuzzy look that's still clearly pixelated. The best example I can think of for this sort of scenario is the o...

You'd need a blur filter for that instead of a smoothing filter.

Glad to see you're still plugging away at this, gerstrong.

Amazing.

So much so, in fact, that you made the official TF2 blog (which is how I just now saw it).

I still break out Super Muncher from time to time for a nostalgia trip back to the elementary computer lab. Great game.

Chex Quest was my first FPS, and even now I love it. DOOM's solid gameplay mixed with excellent level design, a fun aesthetic, and good music all came together to form a product far better than it had any right being. Episode 3 was easily one of my gaming highlights last year.

Groovy. I'm impressed that it actually still functions, never mind that it's even slightly recognizable.

We moved off of the old ezBoard in late October/early November 2007. Before ezBoard was the InsidetheWeb board, which is getting back before my time. Not sure when it was first made, but the move from it had to have been in early 2001 when ItW stopped providing message board services.

The reason why Lucas Arts is using Steam probably isn't so much for the cheapness of the issue but the security. Steam's security is effectively irrelevant for single player games, if that's your thing. Cracked ages ago. No, publishers keep jumping on Steam because it's only growing more popular by...

Weird, to say the least. I don't see how it hugely benefits them to go from privately owned independent company to being a subsidiary of another privately owned independent company. Guess they were tired of the business side of things.

No I believe you are right on both accounts. The "dumbest animal in the universe" quote is from one of Douglas Adams' newer Hitchhikers Guide books. I forget which one but it wasn't particularly interesting. I believe that he was talking about sheep but it's hard to say as the animals wer...
