I've experienced this bug in the DOS executable version of 1.01 that causes doorways in levels to randomly warp Keen to the secret level entrance on the world map. I couldn't begin to explain how to replicate it, as it happens randomly and inconsistently. So far, this has happened in once in Cold St...

Id was able to make games quickly because they were able to re-use the core engine and its file formats and therefore didn't have to spend too much time building new technology. New engine means new file formats, which means you also need to write new tools for creating and editing the new data fil...
