Re: Return to the Shadowlands

So, I finished playing this level pack on hard difficulty a few days ago. It's quite clear that it was intended to bring new life to Keen 4. For one other example I recall, Keen 9.5: The Eight Accumulators also did this, albeit in different manners. Despite the presence of the ruins of Sand Yego, as...

Re: Jill in the Enchanted Palace of Infinite Choice - a new level pack for JOTJ

So, I completed this level pack about 1.5 weeks ago. Similarly hiding details which cover spoilers by using a different font color: It is surely a positive thing to see not just what might be the second released Jill level pack, but also a new concept for Jill; Namely, the way the player is encourag...

Re: Jill Of The Jungle 4

So, I'll first report that the download links not pointing at Dropbox are broken. Other than that, I completed this level pack about two weeks ago. Given that Jilledit, along with its zoo demo level, were presumably released in 1994, it's maybe a bit surprising that there was possibly no public rele...

Re: In search of... Abrams Tank. Hovertank 3d port

Going to add more information as well, but first of all: I might not post here a lot, but welcome to the PCKF, Arno! (I assume that you're Arno of Doomworld i.e., the developer of the CatacombGL port.) I'll begin with a bit of information about Flat Rock Software, more relevant as of 2017 and later....

Re: The Chasm of Chills and The Chasm of Strife

I have another small update. The Chasm of Chills covers a comic strip titled "The Universe is Toast". According to Grandy02, its 5th page wasn't found in the Internet Archive. Neither were the author's notes. However, as it turned out, the 5th page of the comic strip was backed up by KeenR...

Re: Keen Awards 2020: Nominations

Given my relative lack of forums activity and work on related contents, it's surprising again to see me getting co-nominated (referring to Quillax' mentions of the "Strife" websites). So, thanks for that! I think that Grandy02 has given a good answer about the contents of TMST. Originally,...

Strife Forever (unrelated to the game "Strife")

So, I'm doing this 2-3 months later, but it probably won't hurt. Some of you might remember an old website titled "This Strife" or "That Strife", or alternatively a related site named "Strife Strips". Basically, the guy who used to host these places, identified as Maver...

Re: Reflection Keen (ports of Keen Dreams, 3D Catacombs and Wolfenstein 3D)

I can write that the port has still been updated (mostly for Wolf3D). Today's release introduces saved games support to Wolf3D. They should be written in the same binary formats as the matching DOS versions. On the other hand, due to the nature of the implementation, there may still be bugs. I also ...

Re: Keen 1 Randomiser

That's been unexpected! On the other hand, it feels appropriate for Keen 1's 30th anniversary. I gave this a couple of tries. It first used seed 2079. As in the case of Roobar, I started right in the secret level. I couldn't progress much further from the starting point, due to the lack of ammo and ...

The Chasm of Chills and The Chasm of Strife

Thanks to the efforts of the PCKF member Grandy02 and the support of Sluggy, most contents of The Chasm of Chills and The Chasm of Strife are now available from a Duke4.net-hosted website. These pages were originally constructed by Andrew Kepple, also known as Sluggy or TMST (i.e., TooMuchSpareTime)...

The removed Keen Dreams port (Steam) - source code snapshot

So, remember when there was a port of Keen Dreams available from Steam, before eventually becoming unavailable? It was initially started as an unofficial port made by David Gow, partially using code from Omnispeak (Keen 4-6 reverse-engineering project) as a base. It later got picked up to be used as...

Re: Reflection Keen (ports of Keen Dreams, 3D Catacombs and Wolfenstein 3D)

Hi all, It's been a while, but I wanted to mention that I've added support for another game, which is Wolfenstein 3D. This is a 6 years anniversary release. On September 26 2014, I released a new port of Keen Dreams, initially titled "Chocolate Keen Dreams". Although Keen Dreams was releas...

Re: Keen Dreams somehow makes it to Nintendo Switch

I don't think that this had been brought up, but something which I've noticed is that the edited melon lips seem to use colors outside of the original 16-colors palette for the CGA/EGA/VGA (as used in EGA/VGA mode 0Dh for Keen Dreams).

Re: Keen Dreams somehow makes it to Nintendo Switch

I've just realized that the keendreams.com domain isn't pointing at Super Fighter Team's page about their Android port anymore, but rather at what looks like a different page related to the second Switch port. https://www.superfighter.com/kdreams/index.html https://www.keendreams.com/ They stole the...

Nice refresh for the forums!

Just making a short post again - I might not consider myself sufficiently active (as a forums poster) to have the say on the forums' appearance.
