Re: How do you record and edit gameplay videos?

The method I use is somewhat convoluted but works for me. I record videos using DOSbox's video functionality, use XMedia Recode to losslessly upscale the video and change the file format to something my editing program can handle, and then use HitFilm Express to make frame-perfect cuts. Sounds like ...

Re: Welcome to the migrated PCKF!

Thanks, Fleexy, for jumping in so quickly to get hosting done. I step away for a week and everything changes! :D

Also thanks, Andy, for giving us a home to live at for so long (and for giving us an eviction notice so that we would finally leave).

may I pm you some files for hosting reasons, or can you put in a good word for me, concerning an user group rights upgrade... (+-1200 contributions to the wiki this year) Why don't we do both? You can PM the files to host immediately and I can send a good word to Malv to try and get the ball rolling.

Rorie, there are no "traitors" here trying to bring down you, or Australia, or the USA, or anything else. Take a week to cool down, you're way out of line.

by the way: some of those links over there are "private" hosted and others are stored right on the shikadi domain. Malvineous is the one to send these files for long term hosting, isn't he? or are there other admins with hosting rights? who to talk to (Malv seems to be too busy for things like this...

Oh FFS! Although what you're saying is technically true, you should stop writing such ridiculous things anymore! The reason is that NOBODY CARES! It might have been a case 15-20 years ago, but not today because nobody cares anymore and we're too small community to be even noticed. Even if you post ...

Awesome! The patch file doesn't seem to be included in the zip, though.

One suggestion (assuming I understand what the patch file does): instead of switching the point labels in the Help text, switch the actual point values of the candy bar and hamburger as they were mixed up during development.

I've been Keening for longer than I'd like to admit, haha. The game was still fairly new when I first played it somewhere around 8 years old. I joined the Keen community (the old board, 5517) about age 12 and have been here for well over half my life.

Thanks for the kind words, guys! I appreciate you voicing your opinion as well, wiivn! the whole video is a bit chaotic and was, like, throwing some facts in the face of viewers, and really quick. If I already didn't know about some of the id history, I wouldn't understand all of what was said. I'm ...

Gamer's Edge and the Founding of id Software

As you may know, I love both classic video games and video editing, so from time-to-time I combine my hobbies to make YouTube videos. My latest project is a series that talks about the Lost Games of id Software . The first video of that series, which I finally finished last month, talks specifically...

From what I could see, it would be $5-10 a month for our needs. When we move, phpBB 3.x is definitely going to happen as well. :)

We've been talking about moving servers for so long, I'm glad that it's finally (almost definitely) going to happen. We've been lucky to have Andy as a host for all these years, long after he himself stepped away from the Keen community. At the risk of sounding elitist, I would only be comfortable w...
