I'd like to nominate something for 4.3: Most Promising Project: Doom in Commander Keen 1 by me.

I just tweaked the clipboard-reading code to something that's hopefully more widely compatible across browsers. Do a hard refresh on the game page or clear your browser's cache and try again. (Neocities sites require doing that to see updates.) Does it work now?

Thanks for the suggestions! I suppose it would help to make the level editor just directly load and save files as opposed to, or in addition to using the clipboard. I do feel like the custom level support in the main game is a bit hidden at the moment, maybe I should add a proper menu option to load ...

A sort-of update to this. I created a new "index" page for the game that gives access to a level editor and cheat sheet, in addition to the game itself. Now you can make and play custom levels and use music packs! By the way, these features existed since I first released this, they were just ...

Wow this is very close to the original! Really nice! I think the pick-up items in the original have a little bigger pick-up area. For example, in the third level, where you fall near the exit to pick-up jetpack, you pick-up both items in the original, whereas you fall and pick-up only one item ...

It's worth noting that the "mushrooms" referenced in the source code could quite possibly be the Mad Mushrooms that later appeared in Keen 4. After all, they did repurpose a song originally meant for Keen Dreams in Keen 4, so they could've done the same with an enemy, too.
