Old dos game

Looking for the name of an old booter PC game between 1980 and 1983 (Defender / Frogger / Lode Runner era). Booted it off a 5 1/4 floppy. In the game you flew a plane or space ship through a canyon and all you did was move the cursor to target the enemy ship before it got too close to you. It was fi...

The art for commander keen doesn't really look too good.
Yeah, his head needs to be further back in the helmet unless he shoved a pillow back there. Also the ear holes are in the wrong spot for that size of helmet.

Unused Keen Art meant for an Apogee catalog

Repost. Found on Reddit this morning. George Broussard‏ (Founder of 3drealms & Apogee) just found an old painting by Ken Rieger in a closet. Was meant to be used for an Apogee catalog. https://i.imgur.com/DYGy8XJ.jpg Also as someone else posted on there. (username wasn't language appropriate to ...

To quote the Space Quest 6 ending.
(during the game credits)
"These are the credits. We call them credits because we can't really afford to pay anybody until more people buy the game."

Re: Need art help for big Keen easter egg/tribute

I don't have too much time to commit but thought I'd try getting one of the tougher guys started. He about needs a 100% redraw every frame except the nose and eyes.

Eww.. that's not as easy as I thought at low resolution. Drawing the nose makes it look like a smile. CK has enough problems with bad sprite interpretation.

Re: Need art help for big Keen easter egg/tribute

On the front facing ones, the mouth shouldn't extend all the way across. I'd make it as a small smile with the ends of the mouth curved downward. But the head being slightly larger than the body, but without any defined neck.

I think what you're missing on the back sprites are the bottom of the stalk. I think he's bending the bottom of the stalk out from under him and pointing it back in one frame. Maybe that's just my perspective of it. Also I'd change the shading to match the other sprites. http://i221.photobucket.com/...

The id software logo is misleading. It's either both upper case or both lower case, Easy to take them as initials. That and ID cards are way more common than understanding and usage of Sigmund Freud's ideas.

Seeing this just put in my head a need to see a claymation Keen. The Gumby type claymation. The Keen4-6 enemies already point in that direction. Blah... should I give up on wanting this to not keep my hopes up?

It's like being cautious about people with a criminal record, but not dismissing them either. Trust is hard thing to get back once it's lost.

There's a lot of racist slang for whites. I teach my kids that prejudice is just stupid. Like claiming to know someone before meeting them. Because personality is completely up to the DNA and not effected by a long series of life choices, habits, and environmental influences. So I find it funny if s...

Awww no mix tape jokes? hah. I remember recording favorite songs off the radio when I was a kid. Mostly comedy stuff though. In the USA you might find that stuff at garage sales or pawn shops if you're lucky.
