Re: First Keen mod you played
I think I recall a Christmas themed Keen Dreams mod, but K:D was the last major episode to receive any kind of modding support IIRC, that would've been maybe 2012-2013?

Re: Reconstructed Commander Keen 1-3 Source Code
Presumably the differences would only matter if you were to attempt patching the executableMultimania wrote: Tue Dec 16, 2025 9:07 Very cool: I just built a copy of Keen 1 (albeit with Borland C++ 3.0, which was what I had lying around), and despite the issues you mentioned, managed to play it through to completion.

Re: Atroxian Realm (Version 1.2 Released)
Hey yeah I'm also eagerly watching TSK's playthrough (and looking forward to Alphamatic as well :) ) I did play some AR back in the day but don't think I ever finished it, just watched a bunch of playthroughs because I didn't want to miss out on the story.

Re: Was Keen 4-6 a kids game?
You can tell they were inspired by the campiness of old sci-fi from the 1960s and earlier among other things, especially in Keen 6.
Interesting. Anything in particular that you can name?

Re: Keen Awards 2025: Nominations
I wanna nominate Keen 59: Underworld Ultimate for best hiatus work
this mod completely blew my mind when it came out and it still does today l. From a technical and artistic perspective it's one of the best mods ever.

Re: [Mura v0.2.1] Release of my unfinished mods - "Botafloria" and "Mura"
I'm really pleased to see another update! As a fan of the whole Mura theme, I couldn't resist sneaking in a tiny cross-reference / Easter egg into Foray in the Forest. (Warp to level 11 and search the bottom right corner!)
I'm looking forward to upcoming updates.
Thanks Nisaba, I'm glad to see ...

Re: A rare game
I don't think this is available for download. It looks like the author just wanted to show a video of what they made in Godot. Sorry, I tried looking and I don't see any download link.
This is why I wish youtube hadn't removed the private messaging feature. I've been in יצחק 's shoes before ...

Re: Was Keen 4-6 a kids game?
I would guess that making it suitable for all ages was a conscious decision by id. Their inspiration for making this type of game was Mario, they wanted a game with a similar kind of universal appeal. The cartoonishness was more down to Tom Hall and Adrian Carmack's personal vision I'd say. You can ...

Seems like he's just getting acquainted with things right now. A few weeks ago when he freshly joined he was asking for suggestions for mods to check out, and asking about the tools people use to edit keen 4,5,6.
Not just that: he posted a screenshot of the Abiathar splash screen... :evil the ...

Re: (un)known glitches and mechanics in keen
I really dig what you did with the video, well done.
Honestly with patching you could turn this into a great new mechanic in a platforming/movement based mod, like the springs in Sonic that send you flying.

Re: Keen Awards 2024: Winners
To be fair I felt the same way with Mura being nominated. And now I feel a bit like a jerk for not speaking up about it before voting started but the old one level demo already won in the same categories 3 years ago and thinking about it now I'm not sure if it should qualify to enter the contest ...

Re: Keen Awards 2024: Winners
Congratulations to all nominees and a big thank you to Quillax for running the show and everyone who voted for me
every year I hope the next Keen Awards has as much good stuff to show off as the previous and so far I've never been disappointed, it's amazing how this community just keeps going.
