Re: Keen Dreams Gold Edition dropped music poll
I second Toothpick's remarks about "Good Turnip, Good Turnin'" and "Spittin' Seeds", although I also have a soft spot for "Stamp Em' Down!", which helped give Mushroom Mere a unique atmosphere.

Re: Keen Dreams Gold Edition - Christmas Eve / New Year update
I enjoy this update well enough, but why was half the soundtrack removed from the previous version? The mod's music feels repetitive now, and there's only so much of "Bullfrog" that I can take. If it's okay, would you please upload the tracks that were cut from this update in a separate file?

Re: Atroxian Realm (Version 1.2 Released)
I second Syllypryde's comment. Atroxian Realm is an incredible effort, particularly considering it was mostly made by one person, and a proper finale to it has vast potential that would be a terrible thing to throw away. It would likely take a while to make in a different engine as Gridlock ...

Re: How come most players prefer the Hard Difficulty Level?
In most cases, I consider a game's hardest difficulty to be sort of the "canonical" playthrough, barring instances wherein said hardest difficulty is extreme, unfair, and generally unpleasant (classic Doom, I'm looking at you). Generally, it feels like the hero has achieved the greatest ...

I don't understand your criticism of his nudity though, its not like his genitals are showing... ya know?
I don't understand why Nowhere Girl says most of the things she says. This is a forum for people to reminisce on older video games from a more innocent time in our lives, not a place for ...

Re: Fan-art thread
At least it spelled "Vorticons" correctly. Apparently, a word as short and easy as "aliens" is too much trouble to get right. I also love how in the last picture, one of Keen's arms is way longer than the other. Ah, AI. Never change.

Re: Foray in the Forest
Thank you muchly, K1n9. It occurs to me that this soundtrack release is probably the only way to relisten to the initial startup menu music after the first time you see said screen, since it never comes up again any other time you start up the game -- short of repeatedly extracting the game files ...

Re: Foray in the Forest
Is the game's full soundtrack available as audio files? I recall that being advertised as part of the 2.0 update.
In any case, the new detector window is hella useful, and I kind of wish the original games had something like it, if for no other reason than for the fans and level designers alike to ...

Re: Prison Escape (development thread)
Besides, is it not okay to work on more than 1 project at a time????
My line of questioning is not born out of some place of malice, nor a misplaced desire to see you fail. Rather, I asked this because I've seen this exact scenario play out in video gaming modding over and over by this point: a ...

Re: Keen 5 mod development thread (currently unnamed)
Have you even finished your previous community project? Why are you going full speed ahead on another one -- particularly one that you, by your own admission, don't have much of a vision for, and seemingly want other people to do the work for you?

...the Dopefish. It was such a bad idea, and I have been (and probably always will be) scared to death and back to life again of the Dopefish. And because of that, I've never beaten Keen 4. Stupid Dopefish.

Re: Keen is now a pacifist?
Just because you can do that when playing the game, it doesn't necessarily mean Keen would do that. You can also jump into spikes or into deadly force fields if you want, but that doesn't mean Keen would do that.
Okay, this is actually an interesting line of thought: what constitutes a ...

Re: Keen is now a pacifist?
Well, I know I definitely come to this forum to be reminded of current events in this world, and not to get away from all of that and discuss an innocent childhood game that should simply stay an innocent childhood game. Before this thread inevitably gets derailed into politics, I'll just leave my ...

Re: MILDLY NEAT -- For all your random Keenery needs!
Yes, Bio Menace does take place in the same universe as Keen...sort of. It's a little unsettling when you think about it, almost as unsettling as the idea that nearly every id Software IP takes place at different points in the same timeline, so when you get down to it, they've essentially created a ...
