Re: Early Atroxian Realm Sequel Thoughts

That pyramid theory is the best thing I've seen in quite a while. I'm not sure how, but I totally want to work those pyramid teleporters into the game somehow. Lindsey being a hologram is interesting. I've basically just accepted the uTUIT canon that Lindsey is an ally of Keen, but it's cool to thin...

Re: Early Atroxian Realm Sequel Thoughts

Awesome! I was hoping you'd let us know about the original games you'd be working on. :) I took a look at their site, and Pixel Galaxy looked like something I might enjoy and was on sale for something easily within my price range, so I bought it. :D So there's $1 of support from me. :crazy Thank yo...

Re: Early Atroxian Realm Sequel Thoughts

So, with it being the new year and all (and almost 3! years since Atroxian Realm's release), I thought I'd give as best of an update as I can on this project in case anyone is still hoping for info. As far as progress... well, there's been very little concrete progress to be honest. I'm still largel...

Re: The things/places in Keen you were most afraid of?

I think I was probably 4 or 5 years old when I had my first experiences with Keen, watching my parents play Keen 4. I was absolutely terrified of the "mean clouds" in Chasm of Chills and would run terrified out of the room whenever my parents encountered them. I don't remember a whole lot else reall...

Re: Suburb Shenanigans

I've played several levels so far, and I'm really impressed with what you've accomplished here. I really didn't believe it would be possible to pull off such intricate and complicated designs from a gameplay perspective, but it works amazingly well. The suburb setting is brilliant and also kind of d...

Re: How should the next Keen game be handled?

1: No teams within Zenimax really jump to mind as a good fit, but I'd like to see a mid size team (at least bigger than a scrappy indie team) take it on. 2: I think the Keen series needs a complete reboot if it's going to be commercially successful and reach a wider audience. It should be faithful t...

Re: Short Circuit Oracle (My Keen Galaxy modding debut!!)

I'm a few levels in and enjoying it quite a bit. There's quite a few clever ideas and plenty of interesting secrets. It's especially neat how many hints and other easter eggs you've hidden in the SGA signs... I found the secret gem near a berkeloid in Mountain Bypass thanks to that. I really admire ...

Re: Is Keen boring now?

I've kind of experienced the same feeling in recent years. Keen just doesn't have the same magic as it used to for me. I think it's partly just getting older as well being extremely familiar with the inner workings of the Galaxy games. But, these days I also feel like I want something more substanti...

Re: The Sunnylands (K4 levelpack)

Awesome to see another Galaxy release! I'm maybe 7-8 levels in and really enjoying it. These levels have a very authentic, easygoing Keen 4 feel with a great balance of difficulty and just the right amount of exploration. There have been a few times when I've been really impressed with the subtle wa...

Re: Coming summer 2018: Keen Modding Live!

Happy 3/14! This sounds neat. Not that I have much time for Keen, but I like the idea of having a way to make and publish a level without having to commit to a larger project. Any reason for choosing KeenModding accounts over PCKF accounts? The PCKF is more frequented and I could some interested use...

Re: Project: A new game for DOS. Want to help?

I'm certainly interested in seeing this type of project and wish I had the time to help. I'm assuming that, though you have it in mind for DOS, it wouldn't require something like DOSBox to run? It is interesting doing something the old fashioned way rather than adapting to modern engines like Unity ...

Re: Marooned on Mars - Galaxy Mod

At the request of SupKeen, I think I found a fix to the teleporter bug. You just need to add this to your patchfile. The "$0A8f" is determined by the location of the teleporter tile in the tileset, and this needs to be manually set via a patch. I had the same thing happen while making The Alphamatic...

Re: Inspiration for Galaxy Mods?

You could probably get something like this to work in the normal Galaxy engine as well, though the effect wouldn't be as nice as it is Xolan due to animation frames and collision limitations. Instead of having it rotate like the red platforms, it might make sense just to have spikes that takes turns...

Re: Early Atroxian Realm Sequel Thoughts

I do appreciate the interest and comments. Currently, I'm not working on this project at all, and there's a decent chance I won't go any farther with it. In addition to graduating from college this spring, I have three separate game projects I'm working on outside of Keen, so this game hasn't been o...

Re: Planet Of Agony (Keen 1 mod)

Hm, I'm slightly disappointed that there aren't more comments. Very thankful to those who have commented but I expected more comments in all this time. Where are all those who were interested in the mod? :( Maybe it's just that they haven't had time to play it yet or enough (there's a lot level are...
