Re: Keen 1 Randomiser
It's a nice idea -- I've seen these for some more popular old games like Mario 64 but never thought that Keen could have one as well. It feels kind of strange to open a level and suddenly not find the one you've known to be there for about 30 years... :dopekeen Or seeing the color of something being...

Re: Today is Keen's 30th anniversary!
Happy birthday! Yes, it's amazing... And terrifying for someone who first played it about that many years ago.

Commander Keen: Sunset (K1 mod with new game mechanics)
HERE IT IS!! I don't recall if I've ever mentioned that this mod has been under work. I don't think I have. It was supposed to appear much earlier but never did because I couldn't work, and now when Keen's 30th anniversary started to approach I knew I had to have it finished and released. The grind ...

Re: Icecubes, god mode and a bug in Keen 1
Wow. Thanks for the info! I'll need some re-readings to understand all of it. So perhaps that cornered lollipop was possible to collect on the computer Tom Hall designed and presumably play-tested his levels...

Re: Last movie you saw
Anyone order fried sauerkraut?
Great movie. Probably going to see it again just because it's so rare these days to see a well-made, long movie.

Re: Commander Keen Mobile Reboot
I'm actually vomiting through my eyes (in between tears of blood), while also choking on disappointment. I guess we'll just have to remember that the real new Keen is in the mind of Tom Hall -- where it, sadly, might stay for good. Better not existing than existing in corrupted, insane, FALSE FORM ....

Re: The Origin of the Keen: Vorticons Death Animation
tried to rationalise everything in the Keen games There's your problem right there. :dopekeen Anyway, it's a nice theory and I think it has credibility. For some reason I never made the connection with this type of cartoony 'damage' even if at the same time I did feel the sprite was sort of cartoon...

Re: Foray in the Forest (development thread)
Just had to say that wow
those screens are gorgeous! As said, it's amazing what people can do with this palette. Good luck with the rest of the project; seems there isn't all that much left. Just reading about all that talent participating makes me even more enthusiastic.

Re: Planet of the Pandas
I love it! A good thing you decided to let the rest of the world play it too. There's something so old-school about this one! Neat graphics; especially the sprite work (needless to say, the pandas are just adorable). It's nice to see effort was put into all aspects of it even if it was originally ma...

Re: The Mortrix (K2 mod)
I think it was the ice cream from Keen 4. After I played the mod through again I realized that I had actually found a few others but had not paid enough attention to notice that they were the hidden collectiables. Now when I knew the levels a bit better I could find a few others too. I'll try to fin...

Re: The Mortrix (K2 mod)
Ah, it's such a pleasure to see a proper Vorticons mod again. Great work! I'm a big fan of your clear graphics style and level design. A bit more challenging levels than in your previous Vorticons mod. But despite the challenge - which was welcome - there are some great puzzles in there, especially ...

Re: Suburb Shenanigans
I haven't been this impressed in a while. This mod once again raises the bar. I don't know where to begin. Everything looks incredible. The detail is just incredible . I'm so impressed by the level design. (Not to mention the world map; it's probably the best world map I've ever seen. Starting from ...

Re: Level editor programming
@K1n9_Duk3: Hey, how about creating a level loader patch for Crystal Caves? It probably wouldn't take more space than the data for the first level and could be patched over it. Something very simple that works like this: 1. See which level is to be loaded. Take level's file name from an array of str...
