Re: Keen Dreams somehow makes it to Nintendo Switch
All I know is that in 2014 an individual named Javier M. Chavez bought the rights to Keen Dreams from Flat Rock Software after a more or less successful indiegogo campaign. Here's the PCKF thread . I suppose Flat Rock Software owned whatever was left of Softdisk Publishing at that time, as they als...

Re: Your most memorable level or place in Keen?
I think the general design and atmosphere of the Omegamatic will always stand out to me. I always thought the fact that the level completion flags were satellites floating outside was the coolest thing, along with the BWB being parked outside, and being able to see the flag for the secret level but ...

Re: Keen Dreams somehow makes it to Nintendo Switch
I'm assuming that it being the only episode Bethesda doesn't retain the rights to (aside from maybe Episode 6?) is why it's had a resurgence of late, and the source code release and such. The rest are still unlikely to make a reappearance I'd guess. Does anyone know how the rights came to be under H...

Re: Keen Dreams somehow makes it to Nintendo Switch
I had no idea about Dreams' removal from Steam until I looked for the relevant Reddit thread, but safe to say of course it's unfortunate its rights are in the hands of someone like that. With respect to this release, not that I should or would spend US$10 on a marginally more convenient copy of a ga...

When I was really young, three I think, we had this dinosaur Acer desktop that was even old at the time, running Windows 95 and with a slew of old games installed on it. It had Tyrian, Jazz Jackrabbit, Hover, and Episodes 1, 4, 5, 6, and Dreams. My sister is much older than I am, so she was probably...

The old one is definitely more keenish, but that doesn't mean it's ok. Something is wrong with it. Like why would you need a fork to eat a sandwich? It needs some things to be changed (including keen himself) to break up a bit the typical Keen series title screen stereotype. The new one is really n...

So, the title screen. Iunno, I think I actually preferred the old one. This one is decent too but feels a little non-keenish since it's divided. I like both. The left corner one reminds me of axtroxian realm, a sort of dark atmosphere. Yea I actually agree with Nospike not because of the division n...

Well, here on the US East coast, the sun's just set on what is apparently our last day on Earth. In the eventuality that we all live, I figured I might as well work on SOMETHING with all the time I'll suddenly have... since school isn't enough or anything. Yeah, just kidding about the apocalypse stu...

As I know, GARGapplesauce has already picked Keen Meets the Meats up. Don't you remember? Just sayin'. Oh. Right, now I remember. I wonder how that's going. I have never come across any Meat-related news since I joined. To clear that up, anyone who wants to pick this up, please do, I never really h...

Could it have been Thud's project? No, the idea was purely hypothetical at the time which I'm recalling, thinking back I think it might actually have been on the IRC. Thinking back I also realized that the negative response was probably because the crowd was those who weren't so much for different ...

Seem to remember a discussion about something like this going on a while back, it didn't get any positive response whatsoever at the time. I'm really glad to see that that's changed, I think if done correctly this could be an awesome project, the sprites you showed look good. I'd like to see it happ...

I'd like to apologize for leaving for so long without even mentioning it... I've been going through a lot in both my school and personal lives, and haven't really had time for being a part of the community. This post should double more or less as a final (for now) update on the status of this mod, a...

I don't know much about copyright law, but if a copyright isn't renewed, won't it expire after a certain point in time, and the rights released into public domain? What if we just offer more money for the rights then it would cost to renew the rights? Zenimax would be making about twice as much mon...
