Re: Commander Keen - Aurora Bliss (RELEASE)
Oh my GARG. I am utterly ecstatic at this! A well presented, humourous, original piece of modding greatness, sprung upon us with minimal warning. The artistry is magnificant. The Depeche-Mode-y track in the first level is incredible, this is straight off Some Great Reward. And the colour scheme and ...

Lol this is top value entertainment... the thread riddled with spoilers both made it and broke it, ultimately ensuring that I wasn't left to suffer too much whilst playing.

Re: Commander Keen - Aurora Bliss (Keen 4 Mod)
This looks so cool. So colourful and varied. Full of different atmospheres and moods.. a bit of Musical Keen here, a bit of Oracle Janitor there. Really excited to play this... though I'm daunted by that long row of doorways

RHCP Live Setlists
So I saw the RHCP on Sunday play a stadium show in London, and as I mentioned before, I also saw them in 2017 in Dublin. This is a band who it's fair to say are well known for memorable live performances (certainly by the standards of post 1980 bands). They have managed to reassemble their classic (...

Re: [Off-topic] Would love some help!
So was I, a little bit... a number of threads leading to hotlinked third party sites....which I didn't choose to click. More sophisticated than previous spammers whose posts could be googled and found duplicated on numerous forums.

Re: Commander Cool in "Where's My Bears?" (FULL RELEASE)
Definitely found it enjoyable to give this another play. The levels are great, nice and varied and high quality. A few ups and downs with the difficulty levels, though admittedly when I found out the hit points of blue vorticons, the sprite placements made more sense. It's amusing nonetheless how on...

Re: Mod Tiles and sprites?
Well I'm unfamiliar with ModId - it might need tweaking of compatibility settings, which I'm not familiar with doing. As for Modkeen, are you using Dosbox? As it is an MS DOS program. You will need to do so, there is no way Windows will run it directly. Also, you need the whole mod in the folder, no...

Re: Mod Tiles and sprites?
I haven't modded Galaxy in a long long time but I'm guessing that exporting with Modkeen will be quick step. Sprites have masking and in Galaxy so does a lot of the tileset. So you'll want to process the images after exporting, which can be done fairly easily in decent software.

Re: Keen 2 and 3 preview screens in Keen 1
Interesting... is the material used in those demos available for a modder to use in Jill? I can only imagine that if either Vorticons or Galaxy had this feature, then Keen modders could have vastly expanded the capabilities of the shareware games - potentially invoking some legal complications that ...

Re: Anyone have Invasion of the Vorticons mail order floppy?
Yes I recall back in 03, when I got the CD, playing Wacky Wheels and Hocus Pocus for the first time from the disc. Needless to say these could be downloaded online however on my home PC I had no internet, so all external material had to be ferried from my grandmother's or dad's computer on floppy di...

Re: Keen 2 and 3 preview screens in Keen 1
I did certainly find the preview screens tantalising. They captured the imagination. I really allowed my mind to run wild looking at them, especially the Keen3 one - as I imagined the complexity of interaction with the domestic environment in the Vorticon homes to be much higher than the actual real...

Re: Stupid References are stupid
That's really cool DoomJedi. So playable on my phone. The main character is clearly Commander Keen, and the title of the game further highlights how much of a tribute it is. The game strikes me as an updated, modern day successor to the old Flash game "Superkid" which I recall being widesp...

Re: Stupid References are stupid
It amuses me that the "Into The Future" song from Bloogton Tower has signifcant resemblances to part of the final movement of Beethoven's 5th - in this video for instance the relevant bit is at about 32 min 15 seconds. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fOk8Tm815lE

Re: Any modern day VR gamers here that can help out?
I'm very skeptical of the benefits of VR... I'd much rather see life through a cathode ray tube in EGA myself.
