Re: Corrupt A Wish game

Granted. Despite all this power, flaws in your own decision making capabilities and impulses render you just as powerless as before.

I wish that I was reading a copy of "Be Careful What You Wish For" by R.L. Stine.

Re: What Music Are You Listening To?

ABBA - "Don't Shut Me Down".

It's unbelievably nice to hear these guys doing their thing once more. ABBA Gold was the soundtrack to my first encounters of Commander Keen all those years ago.

Re: Life under lockdown

Interesting. We're not yet onto booosters in UK.

Are there many liberties in Israel requiring double-jab vaxx?

And are there now going to be things you can only do with booster (but not allowed with just the two jabs)?

Re: Misconceptions

I always said "shik-a-DIE".

I imagine people from different countries naturally say it differently. It would be interesting to study this.

Re: Life under lockdown

I think curfews are incredibly unhelpful and there are better ways to reduce interactiom between people without enforcing restriction of movement to that degree. This also applies to distance radii. Thankfully the UK hasn't gone in for this but back home in Ireland (as well as down in Australia wher...

Re: Stupid References are stupid

This is maybe more of a subjective experience remniscent of Keen. Rather than a full fledged stupid reference is stupid. But the David Bowie song "What In The World" from "Low" sounds like Keen is in there, endlessly being pushed around by yorps. What do you think?

Re: Keen 1 Redrawn

This gave me a pang of nostalgia... the first thing I ever did in Modkeen was change the pale grey background to yellow. It looked a lot like your screengrabs... this of course gave rise to "Vanished to Venus". Leaving that vignette aside, I like Nisaba's suggestion. It's hard to know what...

Re: Keen 4 Most Favorite Level?

I have picked Perilous Pit , Pyramid of Shadows and Isle of Tar . Perilous Pit is rightly being given recognition in this thread as it is a quintessential open-plan level. Obviously being an early level in the game it provides a pivotal role in the learning curve for the whole Galaxy experience. For...

Keen6: Discovered a glitch

This morning whilst on a bus I heard a kid excitedly telling his disinterested mother about some glitch he had discovered in some present-day game. 12h later, I am here to report a glitch in a different game that has excited 31 year old me. Have fired up Keen6 for the first time in years. Home after...

Re: Keen 4 Least Favorite Level?

I feel real pangs of guilt trying to answer these... criticising these levels feels like betraying old friends. I ended up clicking chasm of chills, Hillville and crystalus. It is a difficult call. I feel that, as levels, they have less to offer than the others. However their position on the map as ...

Re: Zucchini Recipes

I do enjoy cooking but zucchini (or "courgette" as we call them where I'm from) is not an ingredient that I have ever purchased or used. Ratatouille is the first thing that comes to mind but I'm sure you thought of that. Some sort of cheesy potato bake thing also but I cannot recall with p...

Re: Ooh-ooh Witchy Woman!

The introductory riff in "I Can't Tell You Why" (the best Eagles song) could also work as Keen music in a way.

Not sure if anyone ever made a midi of it.

Re: Corrupt A Wish game

If you have decided you should, and have proceded with making that wish, then granted: all the posts in the thread were made by your numerous sockpuppets and therefore you've spent years just talking to yourself. What's worse, you get caught out for having sockpuppets but it transpires the whole for...

Re: Running Windows 95 Games On a Modern OS

It would be nice if Dosbox ran 95 natively. It does a great job with 3.11 which is incredibly good fun. Never tried 95. Would really love to hear how you achieve it if you do.
