Yeah I think exploiting mechanisms that far outside intended engine gameplay will reduce entertainment value. Some glitches can have fun outcomes but a crash due to sprite overload is probably not one of them!

Yes when I was small I played Keen1 on a 7mHz 8086. I remember that mysterious idiosyncratic 4-tile jump. Whether this came into the equation with my playing of Level 13, it's not something I recall. It just amazes me that that CPU originated in the 1970s!
