The Universe is Undercooked

Phones of all types have always been nuisances; a socially-accepted way for workers to be exploitable around the clock, and to sell subscriptions to children.

The older I get, the more admiration I feel toward the luddite response.

This is a really fun spot. Well done, and ty for making it better known!

The Kidd name seems appropriate, actually. And the colour matching Billy's sneakers.

Imagine a time travel Keen game. Like, Mort travels back in time and Keen gives chase with a few quick modifications to the BwB.

Yes mobile games do count.

Can be any device, whether PC, console and vice versa.

Okay, well, I've sunk an upsetting-to-ponder number of hours in Pokemon TCG Pocket over the past year.

A few months back I got very into Stacklands, which is fun but really not that challenging. Occupies the ...

Yeah, as Roobar says, it's wild they're running at all.

If you don't feel up for the fiddle of creating a VM, you can run the games through DOSBox; a cross-platform, cross-architecture emulator which does a decent job: https://www.dosbox.com/

Black Bay Packers has the same energy as Doom Doom Deadows.

The context in which they were made was also very different, with a lot more small and self-publishers allowing a much less corporate review process and a lot more to sneak in.

Have been thinking a little about this the last couple days and I'm revising this part – kids' cartoons then also ...

Thanks for posting those comparisons, Nisaba - I'd not made the connection!

On whether Keen was a game for kids: apart from early learning software, what constituted a game for children was VERY different in the 90s to now, and the number and nature of adults playing games was also very different ...
