Re: InsaLev3 level pack

Oh man. A, B, C, D are super strong levels. Completed D first try!
Hmm.. These are all really good. I think the pack has covered all the bases. Most of these levels are extremely fine-tuned.
Well done!

Re: The "I'm looking for a classic game" Thread

hooray! what a relief. have you had a chance to play Monsters of Terror recently? and does it bring back sweet memories of the good ol' days!? Alas, tis not to be. Whoever is in charge no longer has the DOS version. I might try to config the Amiga version, but just seeing it again is enough. Almost...

Re: The "I'm looking for a classic game" Thread

The 8+ year search is over! Found it! It's called Monsters of Terror originally for MS-DOS but was left unfinished and unreleased. Not sure how my brother got a copy. It later turned into an Amiga game. http://www.lazycow.de/monsters/screenshot.png (This was my very first forum post back in 2012) So...

Re: Creating new retro modding community

I wonder. Does this modern era help or hurt such an undertaking? It would probably be a very slow pace, taking on new members, until a few cool mods are released.

Re: The Ice Factory is about 20 years old!

By golly it has been twenty years. What a way to start it off! and then afterwards 1999 looks like it was an incredibly busy year. I hadn't even played Keen 2 or 3 back then and there were already mods? Sigh... Missing Xky's levels... And good Keen 1-3 mods/level packs overall. Has everyone other th...

Re: Kumquat Chasm

Adding anything to Keen Dreams is mightily risky. Saw a few complaints about the instability of Dreams Plus over the years but I don't recall it ever crashing for me. Anyways, there's plenty of space on the world map for the Chasm. I've got it placed above one of the waterfalls (but Keen must find a...

Re: Any Vorticons/Dreams music mods out there?

Yes indeed! You'll find that only mods of Keen 1 have music (so far). http://www.shikadi.net/keenwiki/Vorticon_Mods Bananasauros by VBB Ye Olde Pirate Modde by Levellass has music but a more stable version exists without music. Commander Spleen's Retrosis has music, too. That's the one where you pla...

Re: Keen in BioMenace 2 - aka 'Why is he a hostage?'

Snake does know Billy's name (or at least the "Keen" part)
so maybe they're old friends (but not too old).
Couldn't say, but I'm sure there's a clever explanation for such a shoehorn.

And don't anyone of you try to tie "Trash Dump" with Commander Keen's supposed "candy addiction" :spot

Re: Short Circuit Oracle (My Keen Galaxy modding debut!!)

What a treat! You've drawn inspiration from a lot of sources! Fantastic! Might want to patch up a few tiles in the gray cave set, otherwise you can ledge-grab out of the level with no way to get back in. I don't know if it's intended because there's a nifty secret area here: https://youtu.be/0ndgnFB...
