From John Romero's formspring.me profile : Question: In the recently discovered pre-release version of Commander Keen 1 (http://bit.ly/9Pl0qW) there's a cutscene of a Vorticon stealing some parts of Keen's spaceship. Why isn't this cutscene in the released version? John Romero's answer: I don't reme...

This makes me think of the Disk Tom Hall found that said 'Keen Source' on it. Wait, what's this now? On a SQ800 cartridge , I guess. I see no hidden bricks! You have to go through the Voricon Commander! It's not about the bricks you can't see, it's the location of the bricks you can see which is a ...

Great find! So that's a small piece of original Keen 1 code? :eek :foot :dead2 Until we get the whole source code, I can't be sure. This is something I just talked about with someone -- that maybe there could be some source code in there as well. And so it seems. Are you sure there isn't any more? ...

Another difference between this version and version 1.0/1.31: When you run the game on a computer without an EGA or VGA card you get a different message: New beta version: Sorry, you need an EGA or VGA graphic card to play Commander Keen. Buy one! Version 1.0 and version 1.31: Hey, I don't see an EG...

I was going to create a topic here on PCKF about some source code of Keen 1 that I found on the Gamer's Edge Sampler disk. And I was going to ask if someone could find more interesting Keen stuff on it. I guess I'm too late :). It sure has exceeded my expectations on what to find on this disk. Too b...

Has anyone from CK's production team ever confirmed that "FUCL" is a hidden word with a typo? Pretty sure either Tom or Romero confirmed this in an interview, and that's how people found it. I think the first time someone mentioned the hidden filthy word was Tom Hall in A Look Back at Commander Kee...

Too bad it still scrolls horizontally, but I think that can be fixed. I've read somewhere that it's also possible to hack DOSBox and some DO...
