I am not going to support any piracy around here, but I found the information needed to buy the Jill of the Jungle games (along with other Epic classics): ARCADE AND ADVENTURE GAMES - 3.5 HD Disks Only The Jill Trilogy: One of Epic's all time best sellers (Jill of the Jungle). $19.00 Link: http://ww...

Today, I was over at a friend's home to help him getting his computer working again. That particular piece of information surely isn't of any interest to you, but the following might: He's got a 486 DX2/66 and a Pentium I 166 Mhz machine and is willing to give them away for free. Otherwise, they'll ...

If you're able to script Actor AI in text files and then let the game act as a cool interpreter, this could work out well. I'm not quite that familliar with script lanuages such as Python or Lua, so I don't know how to add the variables needed for the AI routines that are not hard-coded in the engin...

You may add continuing jumping after holding the jump button. You see, as it is now, if you press the jump button and hold it, Keen will jump only once, which in the original Keen is not the case. That isn't quite right. In the original Keen (I've checked out 4-6 before witing this), if you just pr...

Is it me or the screen on the watch is wider now? That's because the standard resolution for DOS games was 320x200. This engine emulates a resolution of 320x240 with the default resolution of the game being 640x480 (so that any graphics will be scaled to 200%), which is a standard resolution that s...

Just in case you're still interested in seeing my engine at work: I've hacked some quick multi-language support into the engine so that you won't have to mess around with german menus and stuff. Link By the way: I think that some of the key labels used in the game might not be correct when using any...

So you's like some program that uses simple textures and produces the pseudo-3D-tilesets that Keen 3.5-6 are using just by puttin them on an appropriate wireframe and then rendering the stuff or did I get you wrong?

I've got my own Keen-o-matic (if you can call it that). I started playing DOS-Games in 1993 with an old 80286 with about 20 MHz and 1 (one!) MB of RAM and an AMD 80386 with 40 MHz and 4 MB of RAM, but my father made me throw them out somewhat around 2000. It's quite a shame, because they were still ...

Thanks for uploading it. I haven't been able to run the game itself (needs allegro dlls) but that should be easy to find. As for the source, q 90 has already posted a link and I was able to download the source. Edit: WOW! This really is quite amazing. It's got all the classic Keen movement stuff lik...

Oh, and is this the German community forum? Yes, it is. Dammit they have a logo! Yes, we do. And since last christmas, we do also have a (slighly modified) christmas-logo. :christmas (I did that one in about five minutes) http://ckfsc.webnwork.com/imagehost/pics/a18ef5d31f3806b166e6da11b08f688b.png

I sure do, but I'd rather discuss this matter with our community first. However, I could post some shots if you'd like to see them.

Edit: As you might have guessed, this engine is not done with GamesFactory, KlickNPlay or whatsoever.

BIG thanks to q 90! That source could be interesting as it seems to have some basics to support original Keen levels (it's got carmack_compress/decompress). But as I'm new around I don't know whether this engine was to be a reverse-engineered Keen 4-6 or just a homebrew platform engine. I'm just cur...

Best Fangame Engine

Hi folks!

I'm new around here and I was curious about what you think is the best 2D fangame engine. I haven't yet seen anything better than Isis II, but maybe someone else has.

I'd just like to know...
