True abandonware is a legal grey area, regardless of stated developer intent. Unless the publisher or whomever owns the rights has explicitly declared that a work is freeware, it technically is a violation of their copyright to make unauthorised copies. That bit is set in stone. Where it becomes gre...

I often play Dwarf Fortress in bursts, myself. Something along the lines of "hey, this was fun, I haven't played this in a while huh" and then many, many hours later I remember "oh yeah, this is why I don't play it anymore". Never have I encountered a more effective timesink. As ...

Ceilick, Spleen, Mink and I went a few rounds recently.
Here's probably the best of them, presented in revolutionary Four-Way-Split-Screen-O-Vision-O-Matic-9000 for your viewing pleasure(?).

Uh, that's a huge dick move there Fleex. While I appreciate Benvolio's point about how we have effectively appropriated an entire series from iD, it's well worth noting that iD or any of its parent companies have displayed absolutely no interest in the continuation of Keen - a point which often come...

firstly, phpBB2 is, to put it lightly, ancient. It's well past it's security use-by date. Second, I honestly have no idea what you think you're achieving here. Oh no, the admins can edit posts? Which... has always been something they're able to do? This isn't exactly a vulnerability of the century h...

Pretty sure Malv's in Brisbane, although I can't remember why I think that.

Also hi. Fractal art sounds fascinating, shame you quit that.

I've seen some things in my day, but Lass discussing Touhou is up there for strange.

Also, I'm down with a Keen RPG if it's reasonably written and/or not awful to play. Give it a shot, anyway!

I can see tablets supplanting laptops, maybe - portable, but able to be setup as a more serious thing (my "desktop" is just a laptop with an unholy number of cables stuck into it). Desktops as they stand won't be going anywhere simply because tablets will never manage to pack the same grun...

I've listened to a track or two, and I've liked what I heard (Darnielle's voice seems to tend more towards the tolerable than Mangum's). Perhaps I need to make up something of a musical to-do (to-listen?) list because I have a tendency of just not getting around to listening to a lot of stuff which ...

@TK: To Be Over is a great track which I could have easily overlooked. I'm glad I didn't. myself, I've been listening to all sorts of things, some of which I suppose I neglected to post about in yon new music thread. whatever. have an overly long post full of my pretentious talkings about music I (m...

Just pitching in to say that I'd be more than happy to help with the "technical" side of things, although I'm not sure how much help I'd actually be, or whether any is even needed. Still, I'm here, and in about three weeks I'll have more free time than I know what to do with (implying I do...
