Re: Life under lockdown

Things haven't changed a lot. I now have a convenient excuse not to go and see people and do things. Had Easter off for the first time in like 15 years due to events being cancelled. It means a bit less money but it was going to be a particularly complicated operation this year so I was actually rel...

Re: Trainers

Ah, zapzot. That was the other one was trying to remember. I take it ckgut has just started rebulding it. Last I recall you had to access the files via specific URLs. Patching is indeed the next option. It would be cooler to use classic trainers though, but I guess there must have only ever been tha...

Trainers

Does anyone know where to find trainer cracks for the Keen games? I know at least one exists for Commander Keen 6 that gives you unlimited lives and ammo and removed the security question, as it was originally installed on my 386 in the 90s. I don't have that copy any more and searching online has s...

Re: Corrupt A Wish game

Granted. You are abducted by bloogs who remove your brain and install it in a biocomputer that mines FleexCoin.

I wish I had all of the FleexCoins.

Re: Hello from 1994! (still waiting for TUIT... fingers crossed!)

I have a similar spec model but the floppy drive is external and got knocked around a bit too much and doesn't seem to work any more. There is a removable CD drive where the floppy is on yours. Surely nobody will ever need that much space so it's highly superfluous, but the pins are vertical so the ...

Re: Operation Ocflore

From the couple of levels I've played so far I agree it can be difficult telling the background from the foreground. Doesn't bother me too much and it's probably not a big deal for most Keeners. Just requires a bit more caution and checking whether things are solid rather than taking a leap of faith...

Re: Operation Ocflore

So far the bright atmosphere and idyllic aesthetic is definitely more in line with my taste than the darker, gritty Galaxy mods that have been released in the past 5 years or so.

Re: How's the community been?

The forum is a bit slow these days, but there's a fair bit of activity on the Discord . It's a lot easier to drop in and discuss things more casually there than trying to even whatever forum words etc I still have my WIP mods on hand, but haven't had the right combination of time, energy and proper ...

Re: Keen Discord Server

Update for anyone who is unable or unwilling to use the Discord client: There is a plugin for the open source Pidgin instant messaging application that allows you to communicate with Discord servers without running the full client. Though you do still need to sign up for a Discord account first. It'...

Re: Planet Cloudius IX

In Keen 4-6, this was possible because every single sprite frame had its own hitbox. KEENGINE doesn't support that. I had planned to add something like this in the future, but it would make it much more difficult to add or modify the sprites, since you would also have to edit all the hitbox setting...

Re: Planet Cloudius IX

Feature request: Make point items collectible while sliding down poles. Also, at first I thought there was no lives system but just noticed it uses the original lives mechanic. Checked the help text and discovered the quickload key. I will use that emulate infinite-lives/per-level scoring. Wine 4.0...
