I appreciate your commiserating and ideas. I never thought about removing and replacing work-related references because wouldn't working at the same place through high school and college be considered a show of loyalty? As for the people I know, I have an uncle who works at a pharmaceutical company....

Wow! Just wow! This looks like an good concept for a mod executed excellently. The ammo sound reminds me of the ammo sound from another Keen game. I think it's Dreams. The beehive enemy piques my interest. I think I know what its progenitor is, but I'm not sure how secretive you're trying to be abou...

The Vicious Cycle of Employment and Experience

I have a BS and recently graduated from college. I was assured that the department's reputation would pave my way to a good job. Cue derisive snort. It seems that all the jobs I see require a minimum of a year of experience in industry. Guess what I didn't get in college? Yup, that. I'm with three r...

I find the turtle at the bottom of the secret birdland in Jazz Jackrabbit to be highly annoying because it follows you like a shadow, so you can't easily kill it. Any Gruzzle in Word Rescue when you have no slime and no place to drown it Dart Demons in Spelling Blizzard. There is one level where you...

How do software companies detect pirated software and respond accordingly? Does pirating activate or lop off certain parts of code?
I think it's cool that they can do stuff like that.

I want to remove the vocal track from a midi and convert it to mp3 so I can use it for accompaniment. A lot of these programs look like they have what I want, but I want to know if any stand out in their capabilities.

I would like some help with DRO2MIDI

I am trying to convert imfs into midis, but I am having trouble running the program. I have drilled down to the dro2midi folder at the command prompt, but when I try to run an imf through using the syntax I found online, I am told that the file I'm trying to convert is not recognized as "an int...

I think Obama's first term was not that great. Some of the mess can be attributed to Bush, but I feel Obama was not really diligent in the job and has added to the mess. Gas prices have stayed high, and prices on everything else has gone up. Unemployment has been consistently high. I thought a chemi...

I like this. It has a lively style. The see-through blocks are a great idea. Finally, the big green enemy reminds me of some of the genetic cyborgs from The Island of Dr. Brain. Great work thus far!

My whole family is excited for the Olympics. The TV has almost been permanently tuned to them. The opening ceremonies were okay up through the representation of the industrial revolution, but then I thought what followed was garbage. I normally don't follow many sports, but the Olympics have some th...

Actually, I don't think eggs are as bad as what they're made out to be. They have essential nutrients (not made by the body but still needed) like protein and choline. I could not find where in the egg that good stuff is located, but I'm guessing that it's the yolk. If you're not using the yolk, you...

Does all light move at the same speed? No. Light slows down as it travels through media. In fact, using Bose-Einstein consendsate, scientists slowed light to 38 miles per hour (61.3 km/h). This slowdown is quantified by the index of refraction, which is the ratio of light's speed in a vacuum to lig...
