The really funny thing here is that Hocus Pocus was made in the time before games had EULA's.

License agreements started to appear around 1996-1997, and only for Windows games.

The safest thing to do would be to ask 3D Realms. They should have a legal department that deals with this kind of issues.

I found yet another of those strange grey dots in Fort Yetisburg.

What are these, anyway?

I found out about controlling Bounders years ago - I noticed that they don't move in any direction when you stand in their center. The next logical thing to do was to move slightly to the left or right... wheeeeee, free ride! Speaking of in-game secrets, my favorite hint from the Goodbye Galaxy hint...

>: Oh, I certainly have my nostalgic moments, but at times I get tired of PC Speaker beeps. Had way too many of them as a kid. Besides, Keen is just as fun when it is silent. I can imagine my own sound effects in my head :p I would strongly recommend you broaden your horizons... Don't worry - the n...

Well, I haven't played that, so...

To avoid future confusions, there are exactly 4 Keen mods that I have played - the TUIT trilogy, and The Perilous Pursuit.

Perhaps I will explore other mods in the future :dopekeen

Ok, here are some small problems I found in K9: 1. On the first page of the "Story" section, second sentence, there is a repeated word. "But after braving the dangers of of the planet..." 2. I noticed something unusual at the end of the opening text crawl - check this screenshot ...

My choice would be Keen 1 for one very simple reason - it was the first Keen I ever played (and enjoyed).

An honorable mention would be Keen 6 - for the awesome overall design.

I have a small complaint about UNLZEXE. The original release of K9 included a .BAT file that did the whole procedure. That was quick and easy to use. The latest Beta, however, does not include the .BAT file. And the really sloppy thing is that the Read Me does not include instructions on how to use ...

The original hardware is lost and gone for so many years now... but the good memories will never go away. I play in DosBox, of course, but sometimes I just play it straight under Win XP - especially Keens 1 - 3 (their sound effects are not something I would really miss). It runs pretty well. So far,...

Beta testing... yummy!

I am going to take a look at these Betas this afternoon. I'll keep my eyes wide open for anything unusual :dopekeen

I wasn't expecting to see a K8 beta so soon, with all the discussion about revising K7. This was a pleasant surprise.

Hmmm, well, the games I play depend on my moods. There are days when I crave Commander Keen, but there also days when I feel zero interest towards it.

I noticed that some of these moods have patterns - e.g. I prefer playing real-time stratrgies during the winter :dopekeen

That's rare and needed in the middle east. Libya is located in Africa, not the middle east. And by the way, I really think you should check the meaning of "colonialism" in a dictionary. You obviously don't understand what the word means and are just using it mechanically. Don't be a fool ...

I would gladly give these maps a try...

...but not now. I usually play StarCraft in colder weather (e.g. in the winter). After a few months I will probably install the game again and see what you have created :dopekeen

NATO's only purpose is to go about colonizing countries that do not agree with it. Venezuela is next, mark my word. Before we continue this argument any further, you should know that I have a degree in Political Science. Some of my research projects were related to NATO's strategic policy and Gadaf...
