My copy booted me back to DOS and asked me to insert Disk 1. That's hardcore--once the disk goes bad, there's no way to recover.

Malv is absolutely correct. I still believe the first episode of Bio Menace, Monster Bash, and Cosmo's Cosmic Adventure are the best in their series. :) Particularly since the 2d platformer isn't a modern genre, you've got to go out of your way to include the most fun-per-megabyte in your demo. The ...

There *is* a 'pause' key, you know... :) Makes life tons easier. Yep, but you can't give commands with pause on. However, you can certainly use the F3-F10 tools to select which skill you'd like to use, hover the mouse over the Lemming in question, press F11 to unpause, jam the mouse button, and pre...

Lemmings and Lemmings 2: The Tribes are fantastic. Oh No! More Lemmings and Lemmings 3d are alright. Lemmings 3: Chronicles (a.k.a. A Whole New World of Lemmings) is mediocre and frustrating. Lemmings Paintball and Lemmings Revolutions are sub-par. I've never played either of the Christmas Lemmings....

I interviewed Tom Hall via email a year ago for a paper I was writing about modding... he's totally cool with it--he said it showed how much fans appreciate a character, if they continue to create new adventures for that character. I think the key issue is whether or not the modder is making money o...

I read Order of the Stick, which I feel has had consistently good writing for quite some time. It's a Dungeons & Dragons -based comic, so your mileage may vary, but I like it. :)

Yeah, back before KeenWright came out, we had the good ol' ASCII-based Keenedit.exe. I remember opening up existing Keen3 levels and writing down the codes for the corners of signposts and such, so that I could add them to my own custom-made levels. :) I believe KeenRush is correct on the name--it l...

What does mean getting self-conscious? Does it mean something like the opposite I'd think of? :confused Does it mean that one does something without realizing? Being self-conscious is a way of saying you're embarrassed, or worried that you might do something to embarrass yourself. It's similar to b...
