I don't know why I tried. The conversation became pointless the moment you attempted to dismiss objective statistics. I suppose the best we can hope for is that each new generation will be a little less ignorant and a little less hateful. Unless someone other than VBB has something to add, I'm done ...

In how many ways can you interpret "human resources manager"? That's pretty specific. What about "education administrator"? "Accountant"? How about every single teaching occupation listed on there? How many types of elementary and secondary school teachers are there, re...

Thoughts: * 3D, as Tom intended. * Probably some sort of health system, as a 3D platformer. Either a stock 4 units or items that you have to hold on to (like Sonic/Croc). * I imagine there could be new power-ups, haven't thought about it though. * Just the neural stunner. Maybe it could be set to va...

Most so called "vegetarians" eat eggs, milk, cheese This is what a vegetarian is. You are conflating the terms "vegetarian" and "vegan"... You're thinking of vegans, who do not consume any animal products. People become vegetarians for very different reasons. Sometimes...

Boy, everyone's so eager to imagine hatred of Keen. Could this lead to the development of a conspiracy theory? Keen's Rights Activists? I think this was all that needed to be said on the matter of John Carmack. For everyone who agrees with me, don your makeshift tinfoil hat disguises and let's slip...

Interesting and potentially useful! (Why is there no iconic "Keen thumbs up" emoticon? Err just imagine that there is one, right here, in place of this extended parenthetical.)

It's no coincidence. The end times are upon us, just as the Aztecs predicted. We go now to our deaths beneath the feet of fluffy bunnies.

Re: lost in binaries

oh nice. reverse search (because I have no idea which game this might be) gave me this: I feel like somebody should comment on this. So here I am, commenting on it. This made me snicker. Also, Journey is a fantastic game. I never played through the whole thing but I watched somebody play it, and th...

Just because that arguably terrible adaptation was his idea doesn't mean he did it out of spite for the series. I also feel it's highly unfair to blame him for the whole thing.

Ruin of Roib actually answers this question in the story text: http://i64.tinypic.com/2wpr195.png It looks like Mortimer wears a business suit and the same old football helmet. Also, if you're keeping in line with 58's canon, you might want to boot up Ruin of Roib and check out the super secret 24t...

Low gravity. real low. At least as low as Mars' which is about a third of Earth's. This makes both his jump height and fall survivabilty plausible plus his ledge gripping and poles. This is a fair point. Well no... he hasn't really impacted it that hard. It's jumps and pogo bounces and severe impac...

The enemies in the Keen games use a lot more pseudorandom behaviour than the enemies of typical platformers from that period, which generally moved in simple patterns. This is something I'd never really thought about, possibly because Keen was my first exposure to the platformer genre. Yeah, the en...

Well. Hm. You've got me convinced. However, allow me to play devil's advocate: * Keen can fall from absurd heights and land on his feet, staring at the screen, with no ill effects whatsoever. * Keen can grab onto ledges with his bare hands, regardless of his velocity. He always catches them, and his...
