Re: Cosmo's Cosmic Adventure II: HUMANIZED!!! (W.I.P.)
Actually fading out the music is probably the easiest of all. There's one OPL register per channel that sets the volume, nine channels in all, so to change it you just do a quick formula on it every time you write a value to that register. 0x00 is loudest, 0x3F is silent. It gets only slightly more...

Re: Cosmo's Cosmic Adventure II: HUMANIZED!!! (W.I.P.)
I've read the "program changes" document and I have to say that most of what's in there needs a more detailed explanation of what you had in mind. This document might be fine for you, assuming you still remember what each point was about, but I wouldn't be able to use it as a basis for pro...

Re: Cosmo's Cosmic Adventure II: HUMANIZED!!! (W.I.P.)
I could probably help you out with programming-related stuff, but I'm not sure if I want to get involved. Based on my experience with the other fan projects I've been involved with (Planet Cloudius IX and Foray in the Forest) and the progress mentioned in your signature, I'd guess that you are sever...

Don't worry about deadlines, it'll be done "When It's Done".
Let me know what you had in mind regarding those two additional enemies, I'm pretty sure I'll be able to figure it out a way to make it work.

Re: Playing through Keen on Twitch and Youtube (Recommended Mods?)
I'd recommend that you check out this thread for some unofficial bugfixed versions of some Keen mods. The thread also contains a short list of mods that still have issues, so you'd better avoid those unless you're willing to deal with glitches and random crashes during your recording/streaming sessi...

Re: Commander Genius with 100% legal content?
Commander Genius doesn't actually provide any content - or at least not much. CG just reads the files of the original games and loads all the actual game content (sounds, music, levels, graphics) from those files and allows you to play the games via the gameplay routines of CG. It is kind of similar...

Re: "Forgotten Galaxy" -Rescue Of The Last - DEMO
Some contructive criticism: You should consider swapping the colors of the active and inactive digits of the score box. Dark blue digits on black background simply do not work. You have changed some core mechanics of the game and you should at least explain them somewhere. At first, I thought the di...

Re: Return to the Shadowlands
I think that any mods running in DOSBox are the most inclusive in the sense that anybody should be able to play them on their preferred system. DOSBox runs on almost any architecture and operating system. You simply don't get such a wide target audience with native code unless you're willing to inve...

Re: Return to the Shadowlands
Are there any particular limitations i.e. number of tracks in the song, instruments, length? If a midi file was provided would that be something you could easily enough convert to the format used in Galaxy? There are MIDI to IMF converters out there. There's not really a limit to the number of trac...

Hello and welcome to the PCKF. It's always nice to hear about people actually using some of the programs I wrote. I hope you're having some fun with your Jill project.

Re: Commander Keen Collection (floppy disks, mail orders etc)
[...] This was not necessarily about hidden files, but deleted ones. When you delete a file in DOS, it actually just erases the first character of the file name, making the file entry and the associated disk space appear empty and allowing DOS to reuse any of it as needed. But until that space is r...

Re: Keen 14: Secret of the Sorcerer Demo 2
I get out of memory error and it quits. Can't run the mod. The files I downloaded seem to be working fine. Did you use the wrong version of the Keen 6 executable? The mod needs version 1.4, but some versions of CK6PATCH also support versions 1.0 and 1.5, which means CK6PATCH won't show an error mes...

Re: uGrab - a GUI-based EGAGRAPH editor (not just) for Keen source mods
For Catacomb 3-D, there is really no point in using uGrab, especially if you just want to edit the exising graphics and not add or remove things. WDC should be able to do anything you want. If you want to do some serious Catacomb 3-D modding, you'll need to get the source code from GitHub and a copy...
