Re: Misconceptions

the real question is, did anyone here actually see the Perilous Pit as it was intended? Well, after I grew up and learned English, I could actually understand the level name. Then I looked carefully at the graphics, and from then, I saw it really like a hole in the ground. Earlier, when I was a sma...

Re: Jill Of The Jungle 4

Aah, pretty nice thing! I really think I could have decided better to start implementing Jill of the Jungle level editor back then, rather than Hocus Pocus or VGFM one. For some reason this game seems to be much more popular and tempting to make mods and custom levels for, than those two I mentioned...

Re: Misconceptions

My younger brother always thought (while watching me playing) that the pickup sound of the neural stunner item would awaken Robo Reds and possibly other monsters (because of the sound being loud and trumpet-like). He also thought it was not the case in Keen6, where the sound was much softer.

Re: Level editor programming

Hi. I actually have quite solid experience making level editors for DOS tile-based platformer games. Some of you might remember, that about 2 years ago, I created level editors for Hocus Pocus and Vinyl Goddess From Mars . The editors are made in Delphi 7, which is development toolkit based on Pasca...

How you imagined the secret pyramid level would look like before finding a way to it?

Probably many of you took some time to discover a way how to get into the secret Hand pyramid in Keen4, and before seeing how it actually looks like inside, you had some thoughts and imaginations about it. As for me, I don't remember I had any strong idea. I was just thinking that the level could be...

The things/places in Keen you were most afraid of?

Were there any monsters you were really scared of or places you were always afraid of and could not pass through back then, when you were a kid? Here are mine: 1. The Dopefish. Well of Wishes was definitely the hardest level of Keen4 for me. Not only I was extremely scared of a Dopefish eating me, b...

Re: The strange/impossible things that happened to you in Keen

"1. Bugging through wall into water pool in Sand Yego." I had the same situation in the game. Checked, it's really possible! Video: https://youtu.be/2qg0AeZQI8w Good! So that was definitely not a false memory. I really believed it happened to me, but I could do it only once in my life and...

Re: What Music Are You Listening To?

Recently I started listening to the songs of a Czech pop singer Iveta Bartošová. I normally did not listen to this sort of music, but I really started liking this for some reason, especially the fairy-tale themed, medeival-ish-themed, and emotional songs. But most importantly, why I am writing this ...

Re: Shortcuts

Not sure if this one counts as a shortcut:
In the Moon pyramid, if you find the secret to get on top of the pyramid (above the big yellow bricks), go to the right border of level and you'll be able to exit the level without having the yellow gem.

Re: Power Trip - 9 levels for HERETIC

Thanks for your feedback on my level too. Maybe I'll disappoint you but I'm not going to make any more levels. The reason is I'm lacking both the time and inspiration/creativity to make more levels. If you're looking for something really good to play for Heretic, I can recommend you a level pack I w...

Re: Power Trip - 9 levels for HERETIC

Thank you for posting this! I've played Heretic really lot in my life, as it was my first 3D game I owned, even before I got Doom. Nowadays I am playing various level packs and "megawads" for Heretic. There are not so many of them as there are for Doom, so I'm always looking for some new H...

This game does not work on your device.
System Requirements:
OS Windows 10
Grrrrrrr. :barf Instant reason why not to play the game (simply because I can't). :dead2

Re: Hocus Pocus title screen theme arrangement

Heh. Before I saw the video I actually thought it would be your custom MIDI which would replace the original title music. I was also looking at the custom level which you showed in the video. Apparently you firuged out how to use the editor pretty well, that's nifty. Actually, for some time already,...

Re: [Release] Vinyl Goddess from Mars Level editor + level pack

Would be nice to see a good Jill of the Jungle level editor (most likely the full version of JillEdit can't be acquired anymore and the in-game editor, though usable, could stand to be more user friendly), but it's certainly easier to sit around and talk about what level editors one would like to e...

Is Camoto and Malvineous still active?

Hello. I was wondering if Malvineous is still (or will be) actively working on Camoto Studio, or he stopped all his work or even totally abandoned it. I could not see any activity on Camoto Studio during the last year at all, and I was trying to contact Malvineous with e-mails, but he did not respon...
