Ultimate Doomer, thanks so much for the Duke 2 GM files! Did you post this anywhere else? I'm always interested in Apogee GM stuff. Batteryman, good to see you working on this again. I'm not so interested in recordings of soundfonts, but any MIDI translations you do (in MIDI format) are very welcome...

The game has a buggy General MIDI driver, this is explained in detail here (and one post earlier in the thread): http://www.vogons.org/viewtopic.php?p=270010#p270010 It is composed for General MIDI (Roland Sound Canvas SC-55). Windows versions of the game, or the remake, have the MIDI files natively...

Something else interesting is that Hocus was composed for Apogee's usual Adlib IMF, but game dev presumably took so long that Apogee had started using General MIDI soundtracks, and the music was updated. If you listen to Hocus Pocus's General MIDI score, there are a lot of oddities, and part of this...

Since I can't let this go, even though it was 4 years ago, this:
So many ways to die.
Is from Space Quest 3.

I would love to know the two new ones posted, especially the first one. Looks interesting..

I think if people really want to play Keen 6, they'll figure it out. It's not like in the late 90's->2008ish, where you had to be darn good with a search engine and crawl throguh a million Geocities/Angelfire webpages..

It at least gives the regular Keen IP some increased worth, and current relevance, which can't be a bad thing, even if the rest is pie in the sky.

In a way, yes. This could make it possible to make an official sequel, yes, but that would require a budget too. Thanks for replying. I was asking, because in so many of these IP usage deals, the main purpose is not to rerelease some old game, but to license it to make a sequel and make money doing...

I don't think too many (business) people will be interested (aside from Interceptor, possibly) unless a new interest in Keen IP springs up.

There's certainly not many who would make significant money if Keen 6 was legally released versus not (IMHO, correct me if I'm wrong).

Where this would get interesting for me, would be if a sequel like 'Meats' could be made if the rights were bought (is that what we're doing?).

Yeah, good call, but I'm so lazy ;)
Good joke on the source code, too.

Seriously, thanks for the reply. Anyone else?

I would revisit the idea if the BM threads on the Classics subforum ever get enough attention. I'm going to be starting a BioMenace music topic soon and if I get 5 replies, I'll be impressed. :) Not trying to doom my topic before it's even posted, but it's a niche interest and essentially a niche ga...

Keen T-shirts source?

Hey folks, I was looking online tonight, but was struggling to find a Keen t-shirt that was cool and in my budget. I like Shika Usstan's stuff, but I was looking for something a bit more derivative. Kind of like what's on Redbubble, but I don't want to pay ~$28 for a Keen shirt, y'know? Although it ...

I guess while I agree with the topic OP, I'm just glad that: 1. People make mods 2. I have a difficulty level to aspire to, rather than was said, a 'hallway' Also, keep in mind how difficult Keen 2 and 3 were/are. I didn't find either particularly enjoyable. Even Keen 5 and 6 on hard are pretty brut...

First Keen mod I've played in years, and it lived up to the hype! Great mods of the 'Garg' and 'Blue Vorticon' enemies from Keen 1, now they're actually in the open and not just rare and guarding something you can leave. Their death mods are good too. I'm only on level 4 (4 keygen level), but still,...
