They (arcor, now bought up by vodafone) say they are restructuring their services, dropping some rarely used features in the process. That includes the free homepage pack with 50 MB of ad-free web space they have been provding me for more than 12 years now. I honestly cannot remember when I first se...

That's amazing! It's nice to see that somebody is actually hacking Hocus Pocus executable. I see God mode there, that's also your hack, isn't it? It is my edit, but you can actually enable godmode in the original game by setting the difficulty to '3' in the savegame. I have one more question to you...

While analyzing the format of the PC Speaker sound effects in Hocus Pocus, I found out that the game actually only uses a quarter of the data stored in those files. If you're curious, this is what the full sounds sound like:

I recently revisited my GalaxyView project files and realized that there was an updated version that I never got to release. GalaxyView v1.5 (a.k.a. WolfView v1.0, see readme.txt) Note: My host is going to shut down my web page by the end of 2016, so grab it while you can. Edit: Ignore that -- I upd...

Star Wars scroller
Has the "Star Wars" text scroller already been implemented in CG? I'm asking because I did a very thorough analysis of it some time ago and actually managed to write a simple program (less than 200 lines of code, plus some of my custom code libraries) to reproduce the exact behavior. This ...

Re: [Release] Hocus Pocus Level editor
That's funny, I don't recall the source code for Hocus Pocus ever releasing You could say the same thing about the Hocus Pocus beta. But, you know... where did you see it "somewhere"? If I wanted to be sarcastic, I'd say "on a TFT connected to a PC", but you did notice the date ...

Did you figure out elevators? I remember back in the day I thought I had all the files (other than the sprites) figured out but I could never find anything that seemed to specify which tiles functioned as elevators. Satisfy my decade-old curiosity? :begging The elevators are stored as tile number (...

I finally managed to upload some new versions of the tools and updated the links (see first post in this thread). Most updates are related to a problem with DRO2IMF. The DOSBox .DRO captures expect all AdLib registers to be set to 0 at startup and therefore do not contain instructions to set the reg...

IMF Crusher ... the link is dead! The links to the IMFCrush downloads as well as gerstrong's imf player are dead. Can these links be updated? All k1n9duk3.ohost.de links are dead because ohost.de died one or more years ago. My other host allows only 50 MB of ad-free web space, which is why I didn't...

Also, source code from disassembled code is based on the optimized code and stripped of any useful information like function and variable names, comments, et cetera. This stuff is just easier if you have the original, unaltered source. I am not saying that it would be an easy task, but it is defini...

I think it's safe to say that nobody here knows what is going on at id Software and/or Zenimax. Or if they do, they probably had to sign an NDA. Maybe they (id and Zenimax) are acually planning to release something to celebrate Keen's 25th anniversary? And why are some people here so obsessed about ...

Re: Hovertank 3D - second title editing aka help me
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/4975825/hover_000.png I'm using HDC (Hovertank Data Compiler) and in the sprites/pictures you can edit everything except this screen I linked above. Can anybody tell me how to edit it? Because I checked the signs with a hexeditor, but these aren't in the HOVER.EX...
