Keen 64: Release 8

Thanks for your awesome feedback, Plasma! In this new release I've panned the camera out now whenever you switch to the new control scheme. I might mimic some of the newer "3rd person" games make the camera zoom out when you walk / run and zooms back in when the player stops, but when I tr...

Re: Source engine keen game

Actually Unity3D has a pretty good physics engine and if you think about it, what Half Life 2 let you do with the physics engine was pretty much limited to: "ragdoll" effects of slain enemies, moving some crates around, gravity gun shooting / sucking and being able to drive vehicles across...

Re: OFF TOPIC THREAD: Where derailing the thread is impossible!

That's great to hear Nospike-- once you're liked in the company, be sure to do a fair amount of networking at the company so you can hit people up for a reference if you should ever try to get a job somewhere else. Not to be cynical about your relationships with people (i.e. trying to get something ...

Re: Keen 64: Unity (Release 6: How The POGO Got Its Groove Back)

@Fleexy: I gotta give you alot fan cred for noticing something like that! However, I think I will leave something like that out. As it is, compared to the original, the amount of sliding has been reduced, just to give things more precision. But if there is a fan outcry I can always put something li...

Re: Keen 64: Unity (Release 5: Yorp Free and Conk Hard)

The K1-3 jumping seems to be something that's so ingrained in my worldview that when something doesn't work that way it doesn't seem real. :crazy The latest version is looking good, especially liking the pat pats and yorp jumps. Thanks! Also, there's no shame having trouble to describe what you mea...

Re: Need art help for big Keen easter egg/tribute

It looks like some levels in episode 1's trailer are taken from Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, were any of them borrowed? (mostly the trench levels) If not, kudos to your level designers!

Re: Questions for Tom Hall

Below are my responses to most of the posts on here, but what I'm not seeing are too many TUIT questions (exception being Robo's Lindsey question). Don't get me wrong, the major questions on my last reported list are definitely getting asked and I really love all of the questions related to early de...

Re: Keen 64: Unity (Release 4: Level 1 -- dying and functional exit)

My only complaint - and it's not really a complaint because I know this is early work still - is about the movement. Actually, this is the feedback I want the most (aside from technical \ stability issues); making sure the gameplay is fluid is a big reason why I moved over to Unity. So you want &qu...
