I would hope that a Commander Keen movie would take more than a month to make. For it to turn out decently.

Maybe Mortimer was blowing up the universe because he DID manage to think "outside" of space and time and stuff, and found a new place to retreat to (and rule over with an iron fist) once the universe, being an obsolete operating system, was destroyed.
