Re: Project: A new game for DOS. Want to help?

Anyone want to help me out with this thing by helping me write the sound effects code? I’m having trouble figuring out how to send data to the Sound Blaster for digital sound effects. There are a lot of QB-compatible programs out there that do it, but I can’t use them in FB due to there being some Q...

Re: Project: A new game for DOS. Want to help?

I'm trying to get this project started up again. I've done some more work on the engine to make it faster and more stable. Seems to be about as fast as Jazz Jackrabbit now if DOSBox cycles are a consistent measure. As far as the storyline and characters/setting, I'm thinking the following: Set in a ...

Re: Suburb Shenanigans

I tried to play the game, but my copy of Keen 5 appears to be incompatible with it. I have version 1.4, after all. But the exe file was KEEN5.EXE, and I had to rename it to KEEN5E.EXE. It still didn't work, getting stuck at the loading screen as if CKPATCH was having trouble with the exe file. Edit:...

Re: Keen in BioMenace 2 - aka 'Why is he a hostage?'

Spoiler alert: The demons are actually controlled by a digitally reanimated Mortimer McMire, who has sworn revenge against Doomguy, the descendent of Commander Keen.

Granted. It was your right foot instead. (sorry about your foot!)

I wish for a neon sign.

Re: Levellass, Are you OK?

There is no such role as "magic community patch genie" unless someone has the goodwill to step into those shoes. Much has been said of how patching has become a lost art and that was partly due to the fact that there was only one active patcher doing 1000% of it and nobody was bothering to...

Okay, it's getting annoying. Where is she? Your attitude is getting annoying. Unless you are actually paying her for her work, she doesn't owe you anything and you seriously need to shut up. Ditto. Cmon szemi, levellass has been a pillar of this community for a long time. She's contributed so much....

Re: Classic cars

I really want to get an old car and drive across the country in it - west coast to east coast. I'd start in Idaho as my home base, go to Oregon/Washington, down to California, over to Nevada, Colorado, then through Midwest to Chicago, then to the east coast ending in Boston. And then I'd drive back ...

I think it's time to work on some Earth-based pixel art. This game should be a tribute to 20th and 21st century pop culture and retro video games in general.

Granted. But now your stomach stops working, except for candy.

I wish for those really good chocolate striped donut-shaped cookies.
