Re: Fan-art thread

As I stride knee-deep through the stunned, all is clear. I know what must be done. My cause is just. My helmet is strong.
...And my pogo stick is very, very bouncy.

Re: Fan-art thread

Today I made a quick fan-art in honour of Keen's 30th... but mostly as a reply to Tom Hall's acknowledgement of the Goodbye Galaxy series' anniversary.

Your Own Keen Music!

I didn't see a thread for this, so here it is now! Post your own remixes and Keen-related musical compositions here. I'll start because I just made this while learning to use Ableton. (It's the 2nd thing I've made in it.) It's an "Eat Your Vegetables" remake. https://soundcloud.com/andrew-...

Re: Is Commander Keen music weak?

Seems to have already been discussed but because I fancy myself a shareware game music aficionado I just wanna add that I agree with a lot of this. Keen music always did seem a lot more minimal than in other games, but other games were made later. While the Keen 4-6 music was good and at times reall...

Headcanon: Living in a fascist hellscape would motivate Billie to build a portal to a universe in which things were better... Billy's universe.

Other headcanon: Billy's and Billie's IQ is 314 *combined*. 157 is a more realistic figure for an individual genius.

Re: Did you know Jill of the Jungle also had a Bible-themed mod?

Yeah, one look at Kiloblaster's and Jill's start menus and you know they're peas from the same pod! Xargon always seemed to me to have been an attempted spirital successor to Jill (with a new engine for faster PCs) mainly because of their shared otherwordly athestic. Almost as if someone said "...

Did you know Jill of the Jungle also had a Bible-themed mod?

How did I manage to go this long without knowing that Keen's old rival Jill of the Jungle had been given the same treatment that Super Noah's Ark 3D gave to Wolfenstein 3D? Onesimus - A Quest for Freedom (1992) appears to be exactly the same as Jill but with different level design and only a few nec...

It has! I'm surprised I still remembered my password. How are things going around these parts? I sometimes remember to check in here on March 14 most years but it seems I was completely absent when the fan series of TUIT was released. Good stuff, there.

Tom Hall is a huge Mario Maker nerd and it's adorable

I've been playing No Man's Sky lately, which led me to a NMS discussion on Reddit, where a username called "ThatTomHall" caught my eye (he was making a terrible pun in response to someone's slightly cynical comment about the game) and I quickly found that he really is *THAT* Tom Hall and t...

"Eat Your Veggies" hidden in the background

https://soundcloud.com/grantlazlo/grant-lazlo-cotton-fields This electro-swing remix of Summertime features an accompaniment throughout the track that bears more than just a passing resemblance to the accompaniment in Eat Your Veggies . Bobby Prince is known to "borrow" from existing musi...
