Keen5: Shelly/Door Glitch = Bonus level!
I never knew about this until I saw it performed on YouTube.

At 7:25 the glitch is shown. It's an easy way to get to Korath III!
Edit: Fixed the topic title to have '5' instead of '6'. --KR

That is a very well-known glitch.

That's true, thanks to DosBox it's now easy, I've been to make a few videos myself... But I guess that has to wait till my new page.

I have no idea. I guess the only way is to convert them somehow after recording, I don't think there's another way in DosBox itself.CK Guy wrote:How do you make videos that don't require that weird zbmv codec or whatever it's called?

Seeing other people play Keen reminds me... one of these days, I'd like to hold a "playtest" of sorts, where everyone is given a small-sized level with a few traps in it, and you video yourself playing it raw--for the first time. Everyone submits a video so we can see hunches and paranoia in action. :)
... From a level design perspective, it'd be awesome to see what percentage of Keeners head left instead of right, or who pursue every last bit of points. :)

That's an interesting idea. It'd be also nice to know who is, say, left-handed for example. Perhaps it has some effect.

Agreed, this does sound like an interesting idea. However, there is always the honesty issue. Oh fucl, that death was embarrassing. Let me start this video over ...XkyRauh wrote:Seeing other people play Keen reminds me... one of these days, I'd like to hold a "playtest" of sorts, where everyone is given a small-sized level with a few traps in it, and you video yourself playing it raw--for the first time. Traps? Traps you say?
Super Bastard Mario. Best example of traps ever.
Windows version.

There's also a Java Applet version, runs in web browser. The white screen when it first loads is normal, the game takes 10 seconds or so to load up.

However, the music is different and a bit too loud + badly sampled, so if you can do the Windows one.
Enjoy.
