Keen trade
Keen trade
Hi there,
I didn't see rules anywhere, so feel free to edit my post if I'm saying something I shouldn't.
I'm looking for a copy of the Keen 123 v1.31 install floppies from the original release. PM me if you can. I have the original Keen 45 v1.4, Keen 6 v1.5, and Keen Dreams v1.93 rev 1 floppies to copy in return.
It may also interest some to mention that I have the original Keen 6 box with all inserts in case anyone wanted scans or pictures of something (I know some people were asking). The box is not perfect, but it is in good shape.
Specifically, I have the watch mentioned here: viewtopic.php?p=27894#27894 I've had this item since I bought Keen 6 in the 90s, so it seems normal to me, but it sounds like some people were unaware of this item and wanted pictures.
Regards,
Duke

More information on the inserts in the box.. The box contains:
3 install floppies with label slightly different than I've seen around the forums
Manual
Commander Keen Club Registration Card
Spear of Destiny Order Form
FormGen Thank You Letter describing box as "Special Edition"
Commander Keen Watch Instructions Slip
"Keening" newsletter, containing some id history on Keen, game creatures to color, some "secret" screenshots, a word find, and a Keen quiz.
Let me know if you guys haven't seen any of this stuff.

Anyone know what happened to the "Commander Keen Club"?

The Watch art must be by someone else...

The artwork in the newsletter is simply line art for the creatures in Keen 6 and not new.
Made in China stickers are like pillow tags -- you should never, ever remove them or you will anger the manufacturer.
Sorry, not selling anything I have, just showing.
As for the watch artwork, it's no different than the strange depiction of Keen on the box. Third party drawings will always take their own perspective. That being said, Blaze was pigeonholed by a 16 color graphic palette. The only skin-tone colors to choose from were white, yellow, brown, and sunburn orange. Seeing as how the helmet was yellow, the hair had to be brown and the skin had to be white. Just saying.
