What's the black/pink part on a Sparky??

I always thought it to be a mouth, whereas Keen Wiki calls it an eye. What do my fellow keeners (and morters) think?

I always envisioned it as an eye as well, much like the cylons' scanning eye. Not sure I'd see it as a mouth...

Obviously an optic sensor, or as you put it "an eye", but might as well be a thermal sensor. you can observe when the Sparky is walking the red dot is pointed in front. When it stands the red dot is moving around in a seeking manner, when it's charging at keen, the red dot moves towards keen again.

This reminds me, I wonder how exactly is the Sparky supposed to move, since all its legs do is that pumping motion.

Mos def an electronic eye or other sensing device. Sparky uses this to discover where Keen is and attempt to kill him. Because Sparky is evil.

No that's what I thought too. Or a Cylon. In my mind it was so obviously an eye because it resembled those 2 things so closely, and it reverses direction when he turns around.

Now the red dot on the Shikadi Mine... what was THAT?

Okay, the Shikadi Mine's is an eye.

no it isn't. The shikadi mine's is its propulsion actually. it pushes the whole object forward.

It doesn't need propulsion, it's a darned hovering machine with no attachment to the ground! Sorry. The red bit is the part it sees with, in my opinion...

I always thought that was a bit odd. Seems it was originally written by Levellass, so it's up to her to explain where she got that from...
