How do you pronounce...

Post by mortimermcmirestinks »

Fucl? is it "few-cull" or "fuh-cle" or what?

Omegamatic? is it "Oh-mehg-a-ma-tick" or "Ome-egg-am-at-ick" or what?

and lots of others.

Fucl is either fucl'l (which still sounds like an expletive) or Fulk (which isn't very accurate but at least can be said out loud).

Omegamatic I personally pronounce Ome Egger Matt Tick, but given its Greek origins it should probably be pronounced Omm Egger Matt Tick.

That's how I say it, except with "meh" instead of "may". I don't really ever say "fucl" (I don't really swear that much) but IF I DID, I would say it "few- cull"

It's "Omega" + "-matic" (as in like "automatic").

(I bet I just blew some people's minds right now. ...Right?)

I pronounce fucl as fucl, like buckle.

Edit: fucl, it fucl changed my fucl spelling of fucl as fucl

Omegamatic posed a problem? Really?

We had quite some threads before actually about pronunciation (<- how do you pronounce that eh?) of words like 'fucl', 'Shikadi'.
It's interesting to see that 'Vorticons' never came up in those discussions, also what about 'Fribbulus Xax'?

^^agree with him on all but the British/Scottish pronunciation of "Shikadi." I always thought it was Shick-ah-dee, as in the "ah" you say when the dentist tells you to say "ah." But maybe in the UK, dentists have people say "er" instead. ;)
