Some Long-Lost Keen Stuff

Post by _mr_m_ »

First off, if this belongs in the 'Other Keen Stuff' subforum, could an admin move it there?

ANYWAY, I found these trainers/and other old Keen stuff on a CD I had titled 'Megagames CDROM #1' It's an ancient CD-ROM much like the fabled PC-SIG 12 CD-ROM. This disc is from 1994...

Since I haven't seen anything like this mentioned on here, I thought I'd share these little rarities.:

KEENUNP.ZIP
This is a trainer for Keen 1. It gives 255 lives and shots for any saved game

KEENCHT.ZIP
This .nfo file describes the process of using cheat codes in Keen 6. The author hints at finding the memory interrupts that activate certain cheats

KEENAPL2.zip
This file has an executable that displays a translation of the Standard Galactic Alphabet.

GALAXCHT.ZIP
This file has a a trainer that modifies saved games for Keen: Galaxy to have lots of lives and ammo.

DREAMCHT.ZIP
This file has a trainer that modifies saved games for Keen Dreams to have lots of lives and ammo.

USE ALL THESE AT YOUR OWN RISK, but as old as these are, and since they came from a CD that's 15 years old you should be fine.

For all I know, these could provide some more insight into understanding the assembly code for Keen.

Enjoy!

I know some of those, in fact I remember using the Keen 1 cheat tool once. I think I've got them off some shareware disk as well. Nice work to dig them up again!

I am curious as to the content of the rest of this CD.

With what we know now it's possible to combine these all into one program.
What you really need, not what you think you ought to want.
