The Omegamatic's inspiration

Post by Deltamatic »

The Veg-O-Matic. A white plastic vegetable chopper with "It slices! It dices!" advertisements. An indirect influence via numerous similar products and spoofs, or a direct reference?

Indirect reference most likely.

I wonder if Tom Hall's family had one of these in their kitchen when he was growing up - Keen is based off his childhood somewhat after all!

That is, of course, assuming that this actually is related.

I think "Slices and dices" is just pop culture. The "o-matic" suffix could maybe have been inspiration, but there is no "o". "Omega" ends with a vowel so the suffix fits naturally. Also Omega = end, so yeah.

I rescind my previous junk and subscribe to this belief.
