Just use an up-to-date front end for dosbox, like D-Fend Reloaded

Easy. Play around with the alternate (i.e. not normal) algorithms for the "scaler" option in Dosbox config’s [render] section.
Is there an anti-aliased option there or do you have to enter certain settings? If so, which?
I don't have DOSBox available to me atm.
I didn't try all the values, but "2xsai" and "super2xsai" seem to be pretty close to the picture in the OP.

Cool, thanks both of you! :D
I'll try that out later.

kuliwil--

I use 2xSAI for my scaler, as it looks good without distorting too much (IMO).

Thanks! :D I'll get to that once I've got my uni enrollment finished.

The screenshot isn't antialiased. It's zoomed in with a filter (probably HQ2x). This can be set up in the configurer rather easily.

Still, if you make a screenshot using DOSBox itself, I think it makes a screenshot of the original image anyway, not the one with a filter.

EDIT: didn't see page 2 there! 2xSaI it is.

When I set my dosbox conf to 2xsai or any other filter, dosbox will crash as soon as there is the animated intro (all Keen games). Anyone else having this problem?

Nope, but you can try and see if it works in another renderer.

Hmmm, maybe it's the machine setting? Which one do you use?
MAybe you could send me your configuration file via PM so I can check mine, DaVince?

I use the dynamic core and OpenGL as the video output. Both of the settings related to these can sometimes pose problems, so tweak around with them a bit. Also make sure you spelled 2xsai exactly right, not sure if this would cause a crash, but it's worth checking anyway. ;)

Will PM you the config file later if you still need it, at school.

I tried every possible configuration, still DosBox will crash (Black screen, nohing happens) as soon as a logo would come up.
Last thing I'll try is to swith the graphic card for Dosbox (not using nvidia but the onboard one).
edit: Nope, nothing changed.
