Keen 1 shoot-through-roof bug without god mode?

Has anyone actually ever managed to do the glitch described in http://www.shikadi.net/keenwiki/Keen_1_ ... h_the_roof without using god mode? I tried for quite long without any success...

Wasn't this a way to cause a glitch in Keen2? Something to do with the message box that a vort elder brings up on a level without an elder.

One of the olorful blocks has the property' message popup' meaning if Keen roofs it he gets a message. He can do this as many times as he wants, and in theory it's possible to remove quite a lot of the level.

Also it is possible to perform the glitch without godmode!
It's fairly easy to partly clip through a tile but the timing is far more difficult when trying to have enough velocity to actually get to the top of the tile as this requires you starting a max height pogo, turning pogo off mid-air and turning it back on in the exact right frame. All this happening in very small space Works anywhere in Keen 1-3.

with regards to performing the pogo through roof trick on god mode, I've always noticed that it only works if I have just shot one bullet directly before attempting the trick... is that just me??
