There is a version of DosBox that allows savestates. I don't remember where to find the download link but I recall it being on some DosBox forum. If you can find that it should solve your problem. They occasionally do glitch though, so saving manually sometimes is still advised. Hope this helps.
Armageddon Begins Again. The Alphamatic has arrived.
This can indeed be done, I believe it would save an untitled game at the press of a button. However, I think savestates are better. Besides, saving too often is cheating.
What you really need, not what you think you ought to want.

Saving games within a save state within a dos emulator - woah! inception!
Always had thoughts if I should improve that on Commander Genius. Like asking to load a gamestate whenever you die because most the people do it anyway.

Hugh? Does anyone get through the levels of Battle of the Brains without saving ingame? That's almost impossible for me...
The levels are much bigger than in the original and even there it's quite hard for me.
It would be ultimately frustrating to play throug BoB without saving during levels, but I know I'm gonna have to do it soon; doing a video playthrough of The Universe Is Toast, can't save during that... it looks bad...
