Help CK get exposure by voting at www.gog.com

Post by DSL » Wed Dec 17, 2008 12:56

http://www.gog.com (Good old Games) is a site that honestly re-distribute old classic games.
You can vote for games that should be available through their sevices.

So do your duty and vote for all the CK-games. Especially the sixth game since it can't be bought on Steam or any place else i believe(?).

Good for loyal gamers who like to be honest with their gaming :)

Where does the voting take place? I don't see anything of the like on the site...

Scroll down the page, and on the right you can click on "jump to wishlist" or try http://www.gog.com/en/wishlist/.
But you have to be a member of their community to vote.

Perhaps if the first six games sold good they would consider making TUIT.

Not a bad idea, but I'm not certain that it's even possible. Part of being on GOG means being XP/Vista compatible, and for older games that means the GOG team has acquired the source code and recompiled them for modern systems. Unfortunately, no one seems to actually have any of the Keen source code these days.

They sell most of their games preconfigured with Dosbox so recompilation of the source is not nessesary.

I didn't get anything from steam, but I heard that's how they do it there, just dosboxing it. Anyways, they're already selling Simon the Sorcerer on GOG which dates back to dos days, so I don't think compatibilty is a problem

Yeah, it's DosBox'd. The only thing that Steams me (pun intended) is that you have to be running steam and be connected to the internet to play it, and I don't see the games physically located on my system anywhere, even though all the scores and saves change when you use a different computer :stunned

Hmm, one would think that'd be somewhere more convenient rather than buried at the bottom of a single page.

Anyway, voting complete!

Added my vote.

Looks like the more mainstream games are clearly way beyond Keen, they've added some games seemingly at random though, so you never know I guess.

Actually, they're selling the Windows versions of Simon the Sorcerer. But these games can be played with ScummVM anyway.

Hi, btw. I haven't visited in a while. :p
Wow look at me I'm lurking
