The only thing you can do is mute dosbox. Or if you're savvy enough, edit the keengraph list to not play music in the levels.

For Win 7: Load DOSBox, click on the Windows sound icon in the taskbar, click "Mixer," find DOSBox in that list and hit mute.
Keening_Product was defeated before the game.

You can also disable the music playback on its own, within DOSBox. Here is a way that should work, at least if DOSBox v0.74 is properly installed.

A little word of warning: This will permanently disable music not just for Keen, but also for other DOS games (although not all).

Look for the DOSBox settings (On Windows 7: Start Menu -> All Programs -> DOSBox-0.74 -> Options -> DOSBox 0.74 Options). A configuration file should be loaded with some text editor (probably Notepad). Now search a line looking like this:

Code: Select all

oplmode=auto
Change it to:

Code: Select all

oplmode=none
If you want the music again, the setting can simply restored (i.e. change "none" back into "auto").
