I think you've got something here. "J" has a lot of potential. Jenny, Jaime (Jaimy?), Jessy, Jackie the Giant Jumper, and, of course, Penny.wiivn wrote:What about ... Jennifer ...
Betty. I like that. I think Betty Blaze might be the one if we have to abandon Becky at all costs. (Like red-alert, fire-engine-sirens, this-is-not-a-drill all costs.) Also, Betsy. Betsy Blaze. Haha!Nospike wrote:I'd still prefer Becky, Betty or Bonnie.
Bunni? Really? Bunni Blaze, guys? Actually kinda cute. And at the same time... *looks off into the distance* bold...daring.. and tangle-foot.
There's someone in the Bible named Becky? Ohhh... Rebecca. I see. Well, I think of the name Becky, not so much a biblical name, but more of a The Adventures of Tom Sawyer name.Scarlet wrote:I do not like Becky. Only reason why is it is a biblical name.
I thought I read somewhere in this thread...someone mentioned something about Billy Blaze is known throughout the Galaxy as his alias Commander Keen. I wonder if Billy's sister (who can't help but stumble into adventures of her own) would devise some sort of super hero name for herself. I suppose it depends on the circumstances--and under the current story in place, the answer (to my own wonderings) would be no. But all that adventuring might get to Becky's head, and she'd be prompted to find an excuse for a sequel, which will lead her far away from any forest she had come to know previously, this time (seasoned veteran that she is) prepared with a new superhero name:

There are in fact, at least 17 bands containing that name.

I had totally forgotten this, but Keen's sister was called Lily in Commander Keen: Ten Years On, which I'm fairly certain preempts any mention of the name Becky.

Why not ask Tom Hall what he thinks she should be called? I think many of us have him as a friend on Facebook or follow him on Twitter these days, and he's even a sorta-semi-regular member here now! (Though mostly for Pieces of Fun.)
Keening_Product was defeated before the game.

Which semi-official source are you referring to?Boreas249 wrote:... but it's still a fan parody.
Becky is closer to coming from an official source.
It may be a parody, but Ten Years On was posted to the website of an official publisher of Commander Keen by a good friend of Tom Hall, sounds like a pretty good semi-official source to me!
I suppose we could ask Tom Hall too, though it seems like a bit of overkill.
And if we really feel like retconning things, we could say that Keen's sister was born Lily Rebecca Blazkowicz, generally going by the name Lily, but at one point in her life deciding that she wanted to be called Becky so that she could have a "B" nickname like her brothers.
