Guess what? About half of a page has been filled in this thread yesterday (Feb 4) during a period of... I think that's 61 minutes!
Oh and, I've just referred to what I've seen before leaving for a nightly rest (more or less). In the morning of this day, I've found the beginning of the third page ready! Both of these are examples of signs for, well, what's clear for all...

As also known here, it is surely a great honor to see you visiting here; Especially considering it is not the first time.
Good luck with your forthcoming project (and with enough luck, not just that)!

Art

Post by TomHallKeen »

We'll have sort of a curated section for people to apply to get art in the game, though you should be able to use your own locally on desktops.

So that'll be cool.

How cool!

Tom, welcome to the site! I'm fairly new around here, but I've been a LONG TIME Commander Keen fan! Looking forward to what this KS will bring!

What about allowing the games to be run on mobile devices too?

Now to convince my wife to let me spend $30....

Any other cool spoilers about WoW that you can leak? :begging

That's so cool. :)
Do you maybe remember how the thing looked like? Perhaps you could make a sketch of it real quick?

Mobile, Dorts....

Post by TomHallKeen »

I really have found playing platformers to be a bad experience on phones. And editing would be a nightmare. Just not enough real estate. Want to deliver a great experience on every platform it is on.

Draw a Dort... I'd hazard to do one now, maybe I can find my notes... Unsure that will happen during the Kickstarter!

Thanks for the support, folks... How you like it is really important to me.

Android support would be awesome regardless of the potential issues. Editing doesn't have to be done on the phone, and a gaming device such as the iControlPad is always an option for controlling the game. Also fwiw it would allow compatibility with the OpenPandora, depending on the hardware requirements :D (pretty sure native ARM binaries aren't supported by Unity yet, and sadly they probably won't be for a long time).

But it's still great that desktop Linux will be supported at least. \o/

So will I be able to install it on all platfoms or just on one platform of my choose? I'm mainly interested in the PC version, but also would like to have it on android.

Wow! It is you! :D

I've found you to be a hero of mine since I was a tween back when I was registered as Harvey!

I'm so excited for this, and wish to pledge as much as I can ASAP! :D

I guess since everyone else asked a question, I'll try to think of one... what is your favorite song from the game? Your favorite enemy? Thanks! :D

I was also wondering about ARM support, is there a way of getting it onto ARM based computers with linux?

Hey Tom,

I was just thinking being able to export the game to mobile devices. Here's a platformer that's gotten really really good reviews --
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=keVILT155Ok

Here's a free version of the game --
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/command ... 44581?mt=8

I don't see a need to make the editor usable on mobile devices.

So it looks like it can be done depending on how the buttons are laid out on the screen. This may be something to look in to, and perhaps build the game's engine in CoronaSDK for mobile (very good 2D game development platform) since it already exports out to iOS and Android devices.

Looks great, would rather play it on a device that doesn't have my thumbs obscuring a lot of the screen!

There are plenty of platformers. The idea is that you can play and make on all platforms it is on.

Once funded, and it is underway, we can evaluate other platforms. But we are small lil' team!
