Stealthy's Xkykeen Stealth Challenge!

Post by Stealthy71088 »

I was trying to beat Levelack's high scores and failing. Eventually I got bored and decided, hey, lets go and try to sneak through a mod without shooting! So I looked through my mods for something that looked like it would be fun to pacifist through but not be impossible, and I decided on Xkykeen.

Replaying Xkykeen for the first time in a number of years, it amazed me just how keenish it is. It really has that open ended feeling of exploration that the original Keen 1 had. It's a little tougher, but not overwhelmingly so.

I've completed the run, and added annotations. The first video is here:

I hope to find something harder to sneak through in the near future....

My next mod will be possible to beat via pacifism.

Also, yeesh, why must runs take such a long time?

A long time? What do you mean exactly? The Xkykeen run in total was only ~23 minutes. I didn't rush through it, but then again I had no idea what I was doing.

If you're asking me why it took so long in between my keen 4 run and this, it didn't. I did the Xkykeen run all in one day, Saturday.

23 minutes is a long time to me, and it's in so many pieces. (It is one of the shorter run, yes.) But in general, if it's not a speedrun, it takes such a long time! I'm not made of hard disk space!

I could download all the youtube speedruns, ramp up the speed, and upload it.
