While posted back on 2010, it is apparently the case that nobody brought attention to it here back then.
This is basically a reference to a blog post on "Rock, Paper, Shotgun" about Commander Genius:

A bit old news post that ones may be interested in
Loading for me as usual. Maybe it's some kind of regional filtering I've heard about?tulip wrote:is it just me or was that archive just deleted? I'm always redirected to the main page.

It didn't work for me the first time either - I forget what happened now but it worked the second time. The blog links to http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2010/03 ... nder-keen/ anyway.
They mention being able to use a VGA tileset though, but I can't find any screenshots of what that looks like - is there a 256-colour tileset that can be used with CG?

For a download link you can check the HQP here: http://clonekeenplus.sourceforge.net/download/
I think it has not been updated for some time and I don't know for sure its current state with respect to the last releases of Commander Genius.
P.S. It is true that I've wanted to refer to the minor fact that bethblog.com referred to Commander Genius in a blog post.

yeah so I thought, it's nice to see that a site like bethesda blog notices us. On the other hand I found out that bethblog totally sucks - regional redirection is one of the worst things in the history of the internet which totally destroys the original purpose of the internet.
You crack me up little buddy!
I don't remember where I've read that not long ago but, as expected, it seems like one reason for having multiple variants of the blog for a few regions (if not the only one) is the fact that different states have different laws.tulip wrote:regional redirection is one of the worst things in the history of the internet which totally destroys the original purpose of the internet.
As I see it, in order to solve these for good, there should be a single system of laws applying everywhere on the planet.
P.S. To anybody reading this, please don't go off-topic adding "for" and "against" posts about this idea, although I agree it is probably controversial.
